Blazers played at 55 win pace for the second half of the year. I would expect 50-55 wins next year even with no change to our roster.

You predicted 55 wins this season. You think they'll be worse next year? Why are you hating on the Blazers?

Ever notice the similarity between the words "obvious" and "oblivious"?

Most of the players on this team just aren't very good. It makes me nuts that some people are so in love with some of these utterly average players that they would sacrifice future team success for them. Without a major talent upgrade, this team is just as likely to regress as it is to make the play-offs next season. Stotts has gotten 105% out of these players - and all we have to show for it is back-to-back butt kickings.

Dame, CJ and Davis are the only long term pieces that could contribute on every contenders roster.

For defensive purposes, Perhaps we should see Vonleh tried at center, defending Jordan.
He's mobile enough to guard Jordan and stronger than Plumlee.
(Plumlee shifts to PF, Aminu to bench)

Tell him to play up real tight on the screens. Hes got good length and quick hands and can pester CP3 as he comes off screens. He possesses good footspeed to recover too, should he need to.

Maybe we should start Cliff Alexander. We haven't seen him fail in this series, how do we know if we don't try?

Or maybe we should continue with the best lineups we had all season and let the chips fall where they may.

Maybe, but I think the problem is that Mason is better suited to be a big perimeter player when you look at his skill set. (aside from his absent jump shot).

Well sure; except for shooting and defense Mason is a 3+D player.

For Portland to take the next step, they need players (at any forward/center position) who can shoot the ball from the perimeter as well as play defense. Right now, if they want to get better defenders like Plumlee, Kaman, Davis or (with some projection) Vonleh on the court, they're punting on shooting which kills their spacing. If they play their (few) front court shooters like Aminu or Leonard, their defense is going to suffer more.

They really don't have one killer lineup that can generate both spacing and defense. To be a top team, they need at least one 5-man unit that works really well together and then hopefully piece together some depth, even if it's flawed, behind it. They have a start with a great backcourt and good pick-and-roll players like Plumlee and Davis. They just need at least one more three-and-D guy who can ideally play forward (or center, but that's much rarer).

Yeah Vonleh is probably the only quality 3&D potential we have.

Many teams are in the same boat though. Look how many years the Thunder have searched for a competent two way wing. The flawed Aminu or Hendo would be massive upgrades for them. Just hard to find these guys.

Has anyone seen Allen Crabbe? is he injured or something? where the hell is he?

This game was heavily rigged too, Adam Silver is just as bad as Stern, fucking disgusting.

In this series:
Junior Rivers looks better than Dame
RedDick looks better than CJ
fuckingWes Johnson (i cant say his name without "fucking" as a prefix) looks better than Crabbe (not that I've seen Crabbe or know where he is).
M-bah-a-motte-abah-motte looks like a legit NBA player.
Refs look worse than Tim Donaghy and Joey Crawford
Stotts is actually more sweaty than Doc Rivers

Is this twilight zone?

Why did you have to mention his ethnicity? That was completely unnecessary and has nothing to do with anything.

Because I can't stand that loser coach. I think the players can't stand him either. The look Kaman gave him when he was benched after we started hacking Deandre and losing the game said it all. I would have more faith in our ability to win anything if this coach is fired sooner rather than later

While I share your opinion of our coach, I don't agree with anything in this post (other than the desire to find a better coach sooner rather than later).

Did you not read my post at all?

Here, let me put it in more easy-to-read format:

Don't bring ethnicity into it.

So the best play I saw against the clippers that seemed to work was Plums as a facilitator at the top of the key to free throw line. He is a great passer and if we run the picknroll , pass to him when he gets open, but then stops the roll and finds a cutting Hark or Hendo slashing to the hole for an easy layup, I think we cvna confuse the Clips into playing more of our type of game.

Do you watch or listen to a of the games or interviews with players throughout season? This team loves Stott's. He works very well with the team an our leader Dame. You are simply reaching man...
