This game was much worse than just a bad loss. Sorry I don’t share your enthusiasm. Let’s see what happens Saturday. If they can play well and win one I’ll tell you that you were right.
How was it more than a bad loss? How can a loss be even worse than bad? I remember beating Lakers 106-77 in Game 2 of 2000 WCF and the L.A. papers had them all for dead. Well look who won the series that year. I guess I just have more experience watching playoff basketball than you do.

kjironman says we're done after a couple scrimmage losses. Then we go 8-2 and he shuts the fuck up. Now we lose a game and we're done. Hilarious.

The fuck? It was MUCH better. I hate people who quit on their team after one playoff loss. If it's a blowout, they say it's over. If it's a close game, they say we blew our chance. LOSSES HAPPEN IN THE PLAYOFFS. Just gotta bounce back and win the next one.
No brother. Lillard shot very poorly tonight. 18 points total and only 1 assist. He had multiple turnovers.
Lillard is great but he struggled as well as the rest of the team.

But he was better than Melo, Jesus Christ. Melo had 2 points and 3 turnovers. It was a bad game for all but don't sell out Dame altogether. Learn the game, then post.

You don’t get an assist if the player bricks their shot.

I was not the only one that didn’t like the way they were playing.
They worked their asses of to get to the playoffs but let’s be real here. It’s a 1 vs 8 seed playoff series. How about they play well on game three. Let’s see where they are Saturday.

Whole team was shit. But its good loss get monkey off. We won 5 streight must wins including 1st game of playoffs. We were on edge every game. We had to play like shit at least once. If there was a game we could loose was game 2.

Good point. But you also don’t get an assist if you get the ball stripped from you or you brick 6 straight 3’s.
Lillard has an off night. No question.

It’s the way they were dominated by the entire Laker team. LeBron didn’t even have to work hard to win this.

Whats scary is, the Lakers didn't even really play that well. They wanted to send a message, and the Blazers played like a team that was content winning game 1.

Well yeah. Let's see how they play on Game 3. That's the attitude to take. Not your doom and gloom, it's over, because we lost one game. It's not your typical 1/8 series. More like 1999 where there was a shortened season and Knicks got hot at the right time, reaching the NBA Finals as an 8 seed. We've been playing the most clutch basketball in the league in the bubble and our star has been the best player in the bubble. We lost one playoff game. It happens. Jordan got smoked twice by the Sonics in the 1996 NBA Finals. Guess who won the series? Like I said, if you think the series is over, you simply haven't watched much playoff basketball.

What do you mean the Lakers didn't play well? They played terrific D, they shot better from 3, and Davis played at his best. It was a solid win for the Lakers.

Let’s put it this way. This Lakers team doesn’t have an idiot like Rasheed Wallace on their team that will allow a complete 4th quarter meltdown in a game 7
This series most likely will never see a game seven. I will own up if I am wrong believe me on that.
Maybe your extensive playoff watching experience isn’t so great after all.

yeah, he had an off night but a big part of that was the Blazer remedial offense being stuffed by laker defense. Portland's starters had 8 assists and 11 turnovers. Take Dame out and it was 7 and 7....which is still terrible

Dame had 18 points on 14 shots which is 1.29 points/shot. That's not bad efficiency, but it's below his average and way below his volume

meanwhile CJ has 13 points on 16 shots which is a terrible .81 points/shot and Melo scored 2 points on 6 shots.....yeeeeeesh

What are you talking about? I know all there is to know about the NBA playoffs. I watch all the games. Not just Blazers. Rasheed Wallace was a talented player who, with the right teammates, won an NBA Championship in 2004 and both Billups and Coach Brown said Rasheed was the #1 reason they won it. Rasheed was also the best player in that Game 7 you refer to. And he scored 7 of his 30 points in that fourth quarter. Where were Sabonis and Brian Grant? They were the idiots who allowed the meltdown. Sabonis shot 2 of 6 from the field for 6 fucking points in the biggest game of his life. That's the whole game. 6 points. Brian Grant shot 0 of 2 for 0 points. Sheed wasn't the problem. It was his idiot teammates.

The weird thing was some of those misses simply didn’t fall. I understand the Lakers defense was on point tonight but the Blazers really didn’t make shots at all.
What got me was the lack of urgency and energy. They seem gassed or maybe they just didn’t have it tonight?
Guess we will be looking for a better game Saturday.

Did you watch the championship series against Philly? Remind me how those first 2 games went.

Sorry kj, i never thought you would be such a quiter.

It would make sense that they were tired being that they had just won 5 straight close games that requited every ounce of energy that they had. I think it's good they got to sit in the 4th quarter. I'd rather a blowout loss than a close game where you had a chance to win and blew it. We'll bounce back and win the series. I'm sure of it. And we'll win the second round too. Not sure about WCF but we'll see.

I'll tell you. The Blazers got their butts kicked by the Sixers by 18 points. Then they won 4 straight. I'm keeping track of who the quitters are on this forum and making notes. NateBishop quit after Game 5 of Denver series. Scalma quit before we had even played a home game in the WCF. We lost the series, yes, but you don't quit like that. It's disgusting.

The most frustrating part for me tonight was just the lack of hustle. Seemed the blazers were just step slow all night. Hopefully they get settled into their new rooms and come out Saturday with a little more fire. The whole team played a step slow, first time this bubble they have played like that. I expect a bounce back in the next game. To many missed wide open shots and the hustle plays plus the Lakers won't shoot that well again.

WTF?....quitters?

when was the last time a poster here scored a point in an NBA game? How can we quit if we don't play. A bunch of people here being pessimistic about Portland's chance will not alter a single second of any possession in any game

are you saying your idea of fandom is the best?

this is a game thread. People are emotional in game threads. Always have been always will be. And I have to tell you, you "taking notes" about who is quitting and who isn't is kind of a loopy threat. "oh please man....don't pull out your notebook!!"
