Told ya. We won’t win another game this series. Even if Dame was healthy. We have no answer to their lockdown defense..

Game 1: multiple players stepped up. Game 2: nobody stepped up, or even showed up.

Newsflash for the "superior fans -some times it isn't losing, but HOW you lost that matters. Learn the game and then boast.

Honest question do you guys really feel like winning the championship in the bubble is the same as winning it in a normal year? I get everyone is playing by the same rules but that’s part of the problem, zero HCA makes this championship tainted imo. Sure I’d like to win it but won’t it have the same feel as the strike season, or worse? I’m glad Dame is showing up and gaining some more respect around the league but I’m not losing any sleep over not winning the bubble championship.

Dude we ain’t winning no rings this year. Let’s leave the championship talk to the real contenders

Hell Naw. This team got us on CLAMPS!

we ain’t done shit since that 1st quarter in game 1

Bull Dada. You are so focused on the coaching you are missing what the players are doing. In those first 4 quarters, the team played with heart and intensity and neither Stotts nor the Lakers could stop them. Tonight, no coach on earth could have over-come the crap level of play and the worst team in the league would have kicked us in the head and stolen our lunch money.

I think 4-1 is very possible. That was my prediction to start the series just based of talent/injuries. What was your prediction prior to the series?

I had the Lakers winning 4-2....which is the same ratio of superstar advantage they have over us, 2-1. We have no wings and that was going to play havoc with us sooner or later. Trent is giving effort but he is barely past his rookie year and certainly doesn't have the length to contest LeBron, Davis on a switch, or perhaps even Kuzma.

Their two biggest scorers are 6'9" and 6'11". Ours are 6'2" and 6'3". Theirs play better defense. Regardless of their inability to shoot, the NBA, for the most part, is a game of size or smurfs like me would be playing. We won game 1 which I was thrilled about but it took epically poor shooting by them for us to squeak out a victory in the last minute. The shot better this game and it was a blowout....before Dame ever went down. We shot a little better but in two games, aren't over 40%.

....and this is without Bradley and Playoff Rondo.

I fear the worst.

Dame needs to play off the ball more. More of CJ bringing the ball up, handing off to Nurk and then cutting off of him.

On defense we need to load up the paint. Make the Lakers beat us from outside. Nurk and Whiteside need to body up Davis and McGee/Howard more. Using hips to keep them out of the paint on offensive boards.

Lakers looked good tonight. But they’re not some dynamic force. We can win this series if we play smart and of course hit our jumpers at a higher clip than tonight.

This post is filled with logic. We appear to be watching a different series than others.

Blazers suck (except Dame). We got lucky game 1 that last 3 min we hit all the hit shots LUCKILY. This whole bubble we struggled against a bunch of short handed teams and B squad teams. This result makes absolute sense

It's just one game. We're tied, just like when the series started, but we stole home court advantage. These Lakers have no idea of the emotional pressure they're about to face when they find themselves in front of Portland's rabid and raucus cardboard cutout simulated fans. #NBASUPPORTSCHINASLAVERY

Whats scary is, the Lakers didn't even really play that well. They wanted to send a message, and the Blazers played like a team that was content winning game 1.
They shot almost 37% from three that's 4% better than their regular season average, they shot 48% from the field and shot 90% from the line (I know that only accounted for 9 points but still), they played fantastic defense and they seemingly won all of the scrambles. As a team they came 2 assists away from a two to one assist to turnover ration, they out rebounded us, despite a size disadvantage by 9 boards and AD was amazing. They outperformed what their averages for the season were in so many areas, a season that got them the best record in the Western Conference. We played like shit... they played great. They deserve credit.

Let’s put it this way. This Lakers team doesn’t have an idiot like Rasheed Wallace on their team that will allow a complete 4th quarter meltdown in a game 7
This series most likely will never see a game seven. I will own up if I am wrong believe me on that.
Maybe your extensive playoff watching experience isn’t so great after all.

You drunk. Rasheed is a man you want to have in your team if you want to to win.

If I have to choose one game for bad shooting nite it would be 2nd game away, after takin HCA in game 1. Why panic?

Probably not, but Stotts still coached a terrible offensive game (I think he was fine defensively).

The players and the coach need to do a better job.

TBPup's opinions on the players and the coaching are very logical. I agree with pretty much all of them.

This game was much worse than just a bad loss. Sorry I don’t share your enthusiasm. Let’s see what happens Saturday. If they can play well and win one I’ll tell you that you were right.
I feel like a logical person could understand why people would be pessimistic and why people would be optimistic. You don't have to agree with someone to understand where they're coming from! I do share your pessimism, and I get tired of self-righteous fans that act like you're a horrible fan if you don't share their unconditional optimism, to the point that they'll bring it up at random over a year later.

The most frustrating part for me tonight was just the lack of hustle. Seemed the blazers were just step slow all night. Hopefully they get settled into their new rooms and come out Saturday with a little more fire. The whole team played a step slow, first time this bubble they have played like that. I expect a bounce back in the next game. To many missed wide open shots and the hustle plays plus the Lakers won't shoot that well again.
I think it was mainly Nurkic and Whiteside like that at the start and it kinda set the tone for the rest of the game.

I'll tell you. The Blazers got their butts kicked by the Sixers by 18 points. Then they won 4 straight. I'm keeping track of who the quitters are on this forum and making notes. NateBishop quit after Game 5 of Denver series. Scalma quit before we had even played a home game in the WCF. We lost the series, yes, but you don't quit like that. It's disgusting.
Lets just say you can come up with probably 3 or even 4 times where the Blazers were beat badly in a game and then came back to win the series.
I'm betting i can come up with 50 different series games where a team was blown out of the gym down by over 30, and they went on to lose the series. Did you happen to get the feeling Orlando still is gonna win their series?
If the Blazers win this series i will announce to all the forum how much of a superfan you are. But to me at this point i just don't think they will end up on top of this one.

Lets put in the stipulation. If Lebron or Davis go down with an injury it could change the outcome of this series. But right now you have both of them and another #1 pick in Dwight Howard to deal with. Can't remember??? Do they have 4 number one picks on that team or is it just 3?

This was a bad loss on many levels. The injury to Dame made it even worse.
The Blazers have always been my team. I stand by them through thick and thin. They have played their hearts out to even get where they are right now. For someone to even question my "Fandom" is a joke on even more levels.
Now Lets see how the game goes on Saturday.
I'm totally willing to announce that @KSF-ERIC was right and i was wrong if they win this series.

Only counts as one win. Can they dominate us three times more? I doubt it. We have the better overall roster.
They don't have to "Dominate" the Blazers three more times. They only have to "WIN" three more times.
Your idea the the Blazers have a better roster when the Lakers have three #1 picks on theirs by the Names of James, Davis, and Howard might be overselling don't ya think?

Well,,,,,,the dream of a two game lead is Gone. We got slaughtered. A better way to think of this is we are tied with 5 games to go. It's also time for the coaching staff to get their act together.

Nurk and Whiteside need to body up Davis and McGee/Howard more. Using hips to keep them out of the paint on offensive boards.
I agree this is a big problem; our bigs are getting pushed around. But are they suddenly going to find some new technique that will alleviate the problem? I'm not optimistic.

I didn't watch the second half - how bad is Dame's finger?
