We need to spend way more money on the ref fund in the future....this series has been brutally called whether we sucked or not...playoffs you should swallow the whistle and let these guys bang way more than they are...

Must be getting paid well

We should go 11 deep in Game 5. Give everyone a chance to play. If we win, we win. If we don't, we go out as a team.

Its over

The Blazers were much shorter and much slower than the Lakers. They wanted it more. We not only looked like dwarfs, we were unexcited dwarfs.

That's why we fouled so much.

I'm in less pain than all of you because I turned off the game at halftime and started posting.

Fucking masochists. Praising Stotts for 8 years.

Where did the Basketball Gods thread go?

The jinx already happened. Deleting the thread does nothing. Damage is done.

Take your boonks!

Any answer on this? The Basketball Gods need to know.

We must sage the Rose Quarter, posthaste.

Remind me of the last Blazers coach you liked. Dunleavy, right?

Explain in detail the awful system instilled by our coach. Or are you just throwing that out because we lost?
Well, Kenny Smith just said it best. If your system is to switch everything, then it wouldn’t matter if you had the best defender in the world. The offense would know this and just set a pick to get the defender off of the matchup. Portland switches on half ass screens that don’t even need to be switched. When you switch everything, your defense is constantly compromised and scrambling.

Wow. Stotts just said we had energy and desire.. Can't explain why we got off to bad start. Of the 15-0 start, he said "sometimes that happens."

With some coaches, those kind of answers are just a knee-jerk BSing of the press. With Stotts, there is the fear that he really doesn't have anything meaningful to say.

I never even got to that point.

Internet provider messed up my email. I was on the line with them when the game started. By the time I got off the phone I heard the TV in the other room and that the Lakers were ahead 22-6.

I just stayed on the internet and took occasional glances at the carnage in Orlando.

Every one of them was overrated, including Jack Ramsay. We should have hired Bill Fitch or Dick Motta or Bill Russell or K.C. Jones. There is a lot of retired talent out there.

That picture exemplifies my point about the Lakers being taller and heavier than the Blazers guarding them.

Just watched the game...
I honestly can't remember when was the last time i turned off a Blazers game before the 1st quarter came to a close...not even against Golden State.

The Lakers+Lebron (and the "win it for Kobe" season) are a refereeing nightmare, i hope the Lakers franchise return to the bottom of the barrel as soon as possible, because this is unwatchable.

Alright, I'm out. After this Mamba Day BS I just can't take it. Yeah, he had a day of birth. Congrats to him. It has nothing to do with today's game. Just my opinion. I also hate the Lakers. Goodnight.
Is "Mamba Day" going to be 8-24 every year? Or are they like moving it around every season?

Yeah.
They just gotta make sure it doesn't fall on International Women's Day.

Yes! When i watch the Blazers, especially in the Playoffs, it sometimes feels like we look like kids playing against Adults. When you have a height and weigth disatvantage, you gonna have a Problem. The Raptors last year were a defensive team with heigth and lentgh, physically they were just stronger than most of their opponents. When i look at CJ playing "defense", it is beyond emberrasing, he just stretches his arm out but has zero Chance. We need tough guys with lentgh who can play defense and knock down open shots, guys who are not afraid of playing defense

This was a MUST WIN game...and the Blazer came out and gave up a 15-0 run to start the game. (with 2 missed FTs)

They were either:

  • Not stategically prepared (Coaching)
  • Not mentally prepared (Coaching/individual responsibility)
  • Dame/CJ/Nurk/Melo/Whiteside are that much inferior to LeBron/Davis/....MaGee/Green/KCP?
It was over 4 minutes into the game.....flat done. If the Lakers are better, fine. But as has been my belief for many seasons, sometimes it is HOW you play/lose that is more telling than the actual score if the other team is better. (MaGee/Gree/KCP)

Obviously, the most important thing now is Dame's health. But at the beginning of that game, it was to win, compete, fight....and the Blazers did none of those.
