Disappointing loss, but just to step aside for a moment...everything to come is basically gravy imo. With Nurk out - who would be causing huge issues for Denver by the way - his back up hobbled, the Blazers have really grown up and are playing the best ball in their time together. We've never seen them defend this well, CJ has never stepped up as consistently as he has this playoff run, the role players aren't buckling. They're just confident and it's a joy to watch. I was skeptical they could do it and skeptical this core could truly challenge for a title. They've converted me. We may go on to lose the series, but it's only because Denver is growing up as well. If they win, Portland will have made them earn it. I think this is the best playoff series I've seen since the Cavs beat the Warriors for the title. Just high quality basketball, something I wasn't sure the NBA was capable of anymore.
No, it's not. I want one Conference Finals. Just one. Never seen one. We're so close. Could've really had a hold of it with a win and it just gets ripped out from underneath us.

No shit, players aren't fans. Players have a differently mentality that fans... Thanks captain obvious.

If I was playing on the team my mindset would be 100% different as well.
It’s just a game man, just think of it how you would if you were a player. Stay positive, also... don’t let basketball or any sporting event get you too down, it’s not worth it.

I'd like to forget the last one I saw

I texted my father after the game about this game. Big mistake. Lesson learned....never text a Warriors fan when you're down. God what an asshole.

Lol

been there
It sucks. And then I dedicate 6-8 hours to recapping every game so this shit just makes it 10x worse... But that on top of my school stuff getting fucked up lately and the stress of having to save up to move out and all that...

I'm on edge right now.

Find joy in the struggle that's all i wanna say. Blazers are my outlet too but I've learned not to let losses linger more than an hour or so

Denver has the best home record in the NBA, if you can win 2 times on a 7 game series, you deserve to win.

Just a few points away from 3-1...devastating

Stotts choosing not to use a timeout while we literally threw the game away in the third was so god damn infuriating. Nero twiddling his thumbs while Rome burned level of dumb.

I was screaming at the tv...Stotts take a fucking time out!!!

Honestly I usually think like that. I find the silver linings and appreciate where I'm at when being optimistic towards the future.

But then the Blazers lose and it tilts me.

I thought they’d win tonight so Im dissapointed they lost. I still go back to we lost our second best player and the only guy who could match up with their best player. Our backup center is really banged up and playing vs their best player. Our SF is banged up too. Yet this team hasnt used excuses, theyve won a series already. Theyve maintained being incredibly competitive vs a 54 win team that really doesn't have any serious injuries. Say they lose the next two, Id still be happy with what they accomplished this year. Something I couldn't say last year. All you can really ask as a fan is that your teams give it all theyve got, and to me they have.

Just talked with a buddy in Denver..I answer and he starts laughing and says " man those refs really screwed you guys. What the hell you do to Scott Foster?"
And I thought about it..
Many years ago Portland lost a home game on a last second non goaltendi ng call involving okc and Kevin Durant.
Replays showed Foster missed the call resulting in goaltending being reviewable under two minutes.
That's the only thing I could come up with.

That's true.
Not McGruber time yet.

Terry, can you play lineups that dont get killed on the fucking boards PLEASE? 3 straight games and no adjustments.
We let Lopez go, traded Ed and Nurk is hurt; I don't think there is enough left here.

We have to win 1 game away.

Lets not lie to ourselves we should have lost game 2 99% of time Denver had 30 wide open 30s and dozen in and out roll outs on the rim, we played like crap that game everyone knows that win was a bogus win and yea we take it, but we truly did not actually deserve to beat them, we need Lillard to step up and find his shot next game
