Dumb ass waste of shit is really going to persuade. Everyone is a dumb ass except Road Ratt (and Trump?)

If this doesn't create real concern for our communities, dont know what else will?....This should be a high priority in keeping our communities, cities, State's safe.
'That level of violence is terrifying': Mexican cartel targets tranquil Puget Sound city
Increase access to education and healthcare, including treatment.

Eliminate abject poverty (homelessness).

Remove the market and the cartels will lose power.

As long as we keep up the way we are this will get worse.

I agree all this will be key but we need to also to come down hard on any Cartel operation. There will always be drugs in this society, but to allow the cartel to poison and kill, to allow this to continue on would be no different than allowing Russia to Invade Ukraine. Have you looked at the numbers of deaths caused by the poison they are peddling, it scary and something must be done. Just my 73 old opinion.

112K deaths in a 12 month period......Often Mexican drug cartels press these chemicals into pills, which are counterfeited to resemble pharmaceutical-grade medications for ADHD, depression, and pain.

We have laws against selling and trafficking drugs. Nobody is advocating that drug dealers be left alone or allowed to sell drugs.

But they will be there as long as there is a market. There will be a market as long as we have miserable people looking for an out. As long as we have uneducated people or sick people who need to feel better.

We've seen these problems solved before. Never by coming down hard legally.

Emotional reactions to this kind of thing are always wrong. It always makes it worse.

This is true. People should have access to those drugs if they need them, rather than being forced to find it on the black market.

Once again, emotional responses only make these problems worse and make the cartels more money.

Tax cuts for the rich.
Guns everywhere.
Forced birth.

Republican platform.

In fairness, the Democratic platform isn't all that much better. Both parties have been selling out the people for decades and this is how the empire falls. It's too paralyzed by its corruption to fix itself. No President can fix it even if they wanted to.

Well....tax policy isn't great but they do think women are smart enough to make our own health care decisions and that we all deserve the freedom to marry. And some common sense gun regulations, not enough, IMO. Saying no difference becomes excuse for backing Trump or at least saying it's fine if he becomes dictator, I mean, president.

There's a difference. I want to make that clear. Democrats are obviously better on culture war issues but many of those are distractions that both parties partake in because they don't want to actually make our lives better. So they have us going to war with each about which bathrooms 1% of the population can go into. Or who you can fuck or marry. Democrats are better. But by how much? Both parties take money from the same donors.

In some ways, I applaud the Republican party. The leadership clearly didn't want Trump, but the people did. They didn't rig it with super delegates like the Democrats did against Bernie. Democrats keep saying democracy is at stake, but it was the Democrats in Florida who didn't allow other candidates on the ballot and didn't tell no one.

Trump is a symptom of the dissatisfaction. He's the new Marion Barry. A vote against the establishment. People are begging for change and aren't getting it. I happen to think this project is falling apart regardless of whether or not Trump runs or not. Saying all that, Trump is a horrific individual. It tells you everything that the Democrats have such a hard time beating him.

That's correct, of course, and I understand why people get frustrated. Our system allows only slow, incremental change.
However, there's really no excuse for burning down the house just because the contractor isn't updating the kitchen fast enough.
Adults are supposed to be able to deal with frustration in an adult manner. Not scream and break things to show how angry they are.
American voters need to grow the fuck up.

"The Republican party gleefully endorses not just the worst person to run for president ever, but one of the worst people in America, so the lesson is that the Democrats suck."

What about those without a kitchen at all?

I think it's easy for someone to say who has the luxury of comfort when there are real people suffering who see no change year after year. In fact, things are getting much worse in many respects. The system won't change as long as our politicians can be bought. Thus, the change we seek won't be enough.

The country is paralyzed by its own corruption. It won't fix itself.

Your premise and answer are mixed up. Let me fix it for you.

The voters overwhelmingly want him, so they go with the flow. Those who have resisted have lost.

Well, if you think burning down your house because it doesn't have a kitchen makes sense, I think you'll find that the next time it rains you'll get cold and wet.

Burning down the house won't fix anything. It will just make things worse.

It's difficult to improve things here, but it's not impossible. It's much easier to make things worse, but it's not useful.

The country is paralyzed by its own corruption. It won't fix itself.

There's always been corruption, there will always be corruption. You aren't going to 'fix' that until you can replace humanity with something better.

So, @AmirIcon, my civil rights are nothing more than who someone fucks and bathrooms? Are you in the least aware how fucking insulting that is?

You seem to have questions and arguments mixed up.

Let me fix it for you.

No offense but I wouldn't trust you to fix anything.

"The Republican party gleefully endorses not just the worst person to run for president ever, but one of the worst people in America, because politicians will do what they must to retain their power.
Well, bad politicians, yes. Not even all Republicans did this. If you seriously believe that politicians are by nature irredeemable then why vote at all?

The voters overwhelmingly want him, so they go with the flow. Those who have resisted have lost.

By "voters" you mean the MAGA base, right? Because "the voters" actually have rejected him twice. There are worse things than losing (as everybody who works for Trump finds out).

When Trump beats a Democrat

No it isn't. Not even by your reasoning (insofar as it makes sense - which is admittedly not far).

My point is some people don't feel like they have anything to lose and no amount of scolding is going to change that. That playbook simply doesn't work and it's playing the clock, and not playing the win. Even now, Biden thinks young people have no choice but to vote for him instead of changing his policies for the better.

Burning down the house won't fix anything. It will just make things worse.

It offers a new hope. There's little hope right now. And I'm a student of history, things usually get much worse and fall much shorter than the hope was shooting for.

It's difficult to improve things here, but it's not impossible. It's much easier to make things worse, but it's not useful.

As someone who acknowledges that it would end up likely making things worse, at least in the short term, I honestly don't have much hope for this country.

I agree that there will always be corruption, but this is unprecedented. If you would have told people the richest nation in the history of man wouldn't offer affordable healthcare or education to it's people, you would have been laughed out of the room. In every major measurement, American is thoroughly underperforming and failing.

So, @AmirIcon, my civil rights are nothing more than who someone fucks and bathrooms? Are you in the least aware how fucking insulting that is?

Of course it's more than that. Is what I said more insulting than Pelosi showing up in Kente cloth rather than offering actual policy to protect the civil rights of African-Americans in this country? Performative justice is insulting.

You seem to have questions and arguments mixed up.

Okay.

No offense but I wouldn't trust you to fix anything.

Okay.

Well, bad politicians, yes. Not even all Republicans did this. If you seriously believe that politicians are by nature irredeemable then why vote at all?

The argument the left keeps putting forth is "lesser of two evil evils." You don't know that?

By "voters" you mean the MAGA base, right? Because "the voters" actually have rejected him twice. There are worse things than losing (as everybody who works for Trump finds out).

Yes, obviously. I would agree, but I have dignity. Most of those suits don't.

No it isn't. Not even by your reasoning (insofar as it makes sense - which is admittedly not far).
If the Dems lose to Trump it means they don't suck but we should also recognize the importance of voting? Seems like you want people to vote to avoid Trump but also fuck them because they're terrible? Do I have that right? Blame everyone but the Democratic party themselves. ThatI'll go over well...

As far as I can tell, that is by design.

The well of information being poisoned by corporations hasn't helped. We all know Fox is garbage, but CNN and MSNBC are pretty bad and problematic as well. How are we to expect people be informed when they're busy trying to support their families and make ends meet?

Yep. That is also by design.
