We don't fear LeBron, we just beat him on the way to the championship. And then we beat the best player on the planet, a much better player than LeBron, in Kobe. So there's no fearing going on around Beantown.

As for LeBron being friends with Jay-Z, thats adds a 1% chance on top of the other 30 to 35% chance that you already have, if everything goes planned.

FWIW, that's precisely the same type of thinking that the Patriots had before the Super Bowl.
 
A few things

1. No player is going to go to a team simply because they are friends with the owner or a player. Duncan tried to recruit Kidd years back when his contract was up, but Kidd chose otherwise.

2. I remember reading that in Lebron's contract there is a clause that he will get paid more if he signs with New York or LA, because the sports market is bigger there and would increase sales of his merchandise. So regardless of whether the team is good or not in 2010 if Lebron is money hungry he may try to go to one of those cities.

3. Its silly to try and predict what will happen in 2010 as far as who will be good and who won't. If the Nets (or any team) clear enough space to get Lebron they will not be a good team and he may be in search for a ring rather than money at that point.

You and CelticKing had no idea what would happen the next year until the KG trade. You might have had an idea what would have happened, but it turned out to be a flawed one.

Your views changed within a month. We have two years to work with. LeBron has not been linked to any team other than the Lakers, Knicks, or the Nets. That is what I am basing my statement on.

As it was foolish to predict a 24 win team would do as well as they did this year, you or any other person cannot say that in two years the Nets will not be in a good or better position to land LeBron, because a lot can happen in two years, just as a lot can happen in one month.

So it's foolish to predict what a team will do next year, and yet there are numerous Lebron to the Nets threads predicting what will happen 2 years from now.. VERY Foolish IMO. Kinda like hoping you'll find Oil in your back yard and stike it rich.. it COULD happen.. but highly unlikely
 
What I find absolutely hilarious is the fact that two Celtics fans, one being a moderator at that, come to a Nets forum to troll and tell what NETS FANS should talk about and dream about. It is our right to dream about LeBron. We don't have the history of the Celtics. We dont have a championship. This is the only thing that gives us hope of witnessing a championship parade. This is our light at the end of the tunnel, a dim one, but a light nonetheless. What gives you the right to throw cold water on our hope?

Nobody is trying to do that, but this is a message board, its a place for friendly debate. If Nets fans believe, or want to believe, that Lebron will sign there that's fine. But post a reason why or something, his being friends with Jay-Z or the fact that the Nets are interested in him means nothing (read my earlier post). Lebron in New Jersey or any team other than Cleveland is just a pipe dream until 2010 or a trade happens (doubtful).

Except we're basing it on many facts and news reports. What are you basing your statements on?
 
Yeah its kinda funny that the Celtics admin is trolling our boards and telling us what to think. I dont see any of us going to the Celtics board and doing the same. Kinda annoying & of poor taste to tell you the truth. Also whoever thinks the Celtics & Lakers or even the Knicks have a better chance at landing Lebron than the Nets are just blind and cant see the bigger picture here. Dont waste your time with people like that. Its pointless... move on.
 
I really love Kidd for style of game he plays and what he had done for this team.
HOWEVER, he really should stop talk about Nets.
Everyone knows it was bad break-up already.
just say no-comments.

Thats the thinking that every fan has when they have a good team. The Nets fans will go wild here at S2 as soon as the Nets are in the playoffs again. You know that better than me Real.

Boston's "dynasty" dreams have nothing to do with NJ. Boston's big three have 2, maybe 3 years left in them at the very most.

Also, the chances of Danny Ainge not screwing up the team for 3 years in a row are extremely low.
