Considering they exceeded expectations why not keep the coach they have?

Keeping the same team and being a shitty purgatory team that has sucked for the last 5 years.

Ths team is bad. Fact, not opinion.
The Kings are bad. The Blazers are a fun up and coming team that went from 10th to 7th in the last couple months. Fact. Not opinion.

Does anyone know the %s of each owners stake in the team?

There's a lot of smoke.

The weird thing is that underpaying a college coach doesn't at all make sense with this roster. We have some young guys, but we also have a bunch of older guys. Now is not the time to bring in a college coach with zero NBA experience.

If this is at all true, it puts a lot of doubt in my mind about this guy running the team. We're about to become the Portland A's.

With Dame coming back next season and Deni returning as an All Star, to me, the default should be to do nothing at all and keep everything, including the coach.

At most, I would look to add a more consistent 3-point shooter who plays decent defense. It's too bad Craychee hasn't been that guy for the Blazers, but maybe they just need to give him one more season. He's a career 39.3% 3-point shooter, even with what he did for Portland.
He shot the 3-pointer very well in his last 2 1/2 seasons in Atlanta.
An un-weighted average of 42.4%. Exactly what the Blazers need.

You still reply to that guy? He is a troll just looking to get a response from people at this point, don’t take the bait

Fair. I also think neither man is particularly wise. People who make “buy an NBA franchise” money typically either got lucky with timing or were willing to do horrible crimes to get it… usually both. But because they’re now rich, most of them think they had some special smarts to get their success. Typically this is not the case.

My fear about new ownership? I’m afraid Dundon thinks he somehow earned his position through smarts and guile and will run the franchise like he is somehow as smart as he thinks he is. Which nobody is, but especially not billionaires.
You don't actually know anything about these guys. Did Steve Ballmer "get lucky"? Was Jerry Buss a crook? What a crock.

If anyone thinks this might be hyperbole. Carolina Hurricanes head coach, Rod Brind’Amour makes towards the bottom of the league, and he has led that team to the playoffs multiple years. It’s gonna be a bumpy ride til you guys figure out the new norm, and get comfortable with it

Why is he still with the team if he's taken them to multiple playoffs?

WTF are you talking about? Why should we get comfortable with it? The only reason we're okay with Billionaire assholes owning teams is so that they overspend their ill-gotten gains on something we enjoy. You know who tried to make money owning a team? Donald Fucking Sterling.

Yes and yes. This reminds me of a story a former professor (who was an ordained minister) used to tell. Two maggots are dropped from the sky. One lands in a deep crack in a rock, the other lands in a dead animal. While the first one is expending great effort with no available sustenance clambering out of the crevice, the other is gorging itself on the readily available food. When they meet up again later, the first one is weak and emaciated, while the second is hugely fat and healthy. "Wow," says the first one, "how are you in such great shape?" The second replies, "hard work and bold vision."

This is why capitalists love to believe that private property in resources is a God-given right rather than an invention of rich people who were backed by the power of the state.

OK, everyone who goes to a game needs to chant FUCK DUNDON. Because fuck that guy. Jesus, I miss Jody - how fucked up is that?

Actually, maybe "Dundon? Dum Dum!" would be more annoying for him.
Jody should have sold to Phil Knight. Jody fucked us.

I think this dude is a snake and will try to move the Blazers. I don’t believe anything he says. I guarantee whatever it is at Game 3 it’s cheaper than a shirt would be. Dark days could be coming.

He said it himself at the press conference, he wasn’t looking for a team, the league called him. I expect everything to be about saving money.

It seems to me like he's looking for the fans to stop supporting the team.

Once the fans stop supporting and the stadium is empty he'll be able to lobby to move the team.

I can’t imagine what Portland fans would be willing to do to an owner who moves this team.
