I know. Just half the games and then the rate of the other states on the other games.
Figging wonderful treatment you get from Oregon too, as a non resident.

Sorry about the pain in ass, it shouldn't be that bad from way down here in Bandon.
Its not as simple as that either sir. They could get credits offsetting some of the oregon tax theyd have to pay depending where they claim residency. And its not only 9.9%. The first 125k is 9% if single (chump change to them i guess)

But again. Not gonna lay it out all.

And i knew you were gay! You were in the navy afterall. Must have lots of stories of experimenting to share.

I'm sure you mean this as a compliment but Marazul is not going to take it that way.
Nothing wrong with being gay. He is the one that brought up butt sex. Which i have no problems with. I would just prefer when butt sex is performed on a female personally.

So keep on doing that butt sex marazul! Just not on me. I dont roll that way.

I think you need to cool down. I had no intentions of pissing you off. Not even sure what did it, but it was not my wish.

Im good man. We were just having a little fun back and forth. You said you hurt my ass. No big deal, it was funny.

Response to your PITA.
Yeah, quite the jump though. A pain in the ass equates to annoying. Not butt sex. So its a little different. But nonetheless funny. Didnt know you had that side to you. Well done.

>>> Not my intent

Didnt know you had that side to you. Well done.

>>> I don't.

I guess I will have to watch it. You brought the PITA, I used the full phrase, I shouldn't be that much of a pain in the ass to a Portland Tax guy that I haven't hired from way down here in Bandon! Perhaps this is not funny, but damn man, I did not intend to imply what you inferred.
I can only hope for a better day tomorrow.

Marazul, you have no idea what youre talking about.

I never said anything to the effect of what you are claiming.

Just because a player signs with memphis or portland, does not mean they are a resident of that city.

Im not gonna go down the line and explain each bit of detail to you because you couldnt afford me.

Where the fuck did you get 11%?

He'd have to pay state income tax on at least all of his home games in Portland as a Blazer. As a Grizzlie, he's going to pay it on his away games.

That is a big-ish difference.

But are you a big enough boy to discuss this?

Sigh. Its a difference but not as big as suggested. Again its not as easy as that. There are credits and such for "mutually taxed income"

I'm still trying to figure out what Portland has to offer to the millenial millionaire ball player.

Honestly, I think it's because the perception of Portland is skewed. Outsiders don't view it the same way we or other players who've played here view it. That's because the perception of Portland isn't quite correct. You've had to live here to appreciate the city and realize what it has to offer. We should be preaching that in every free agent meeting we go into.
A lot of guys in the league from inner city backgrounds fall in love with Portland for reasons other than the discos. Ed Davis loves it here and last time I looked, he's an NBA vet. Jerome Kersey loved it here. Steve Blake loves it here. It's not that weird for basketball players to enjoy Oregon....rain is nothing!!! Florida...where anything made out of wood will end up in the ocean every other year..hurricane central...Oklahoma..horrible weather..twister alley...Boston...better like snow shovels and the snow is usually black after a day...I don't buy the weather spin at all.

I couldn't get it to post from my phone thanks for getting it up here!
Yup. The link to the image in google search results isn't an actual image, but a generated one (there's no .gif/.jpg/whatever on the end of the URL).

Players play in every major city in the country multiple times...they party in New York and Miami....Portland is a great place to come off the road and charge your batteries ...breath some fresh air and drink some drinkable water for a change.

To get back, maybe winning really does cure all

I think here is the gray area of the definition of winning. Winning it all? Being an above .500 team? Being a consistent playoff team? Being a consistent championship contender? The definition may vary for us, but it doesn't really matter. Whats the definition for the FA's? And for them it will vary as well. We need to find the ones who prefer this culture like River said. Guys who, if they want the big city to party , plan responsibly and they have the money to do it anywhere in the world. Portland is great place for a responsible kid to stay honed and focus on priorities after taking a weekend bender in Vegas or LA or NY, or the Bahamas or whatever.

Plus, like I pointed out in the OP that some of you seem to have missed, the teams nailing the FA's don't have much better weather than us!. Boston? Anyone lived in the NE in winter? Fuck, Ill take the rain every time man. Plus any educated person knows the rain is what makes this place beautiful the rest of the year like Bones pointed out.

The weather cant be a major factor.

I think its the organization, and we just came off of a major change. As good as our organization is, it doesn't provide the stability of an SA or GS ... YET.

Another year or two though with consistent play and low caliber moves that inches us closer, we might just turn the corner yet and build the confidence in these top tiers that we are in it for the long term and winning isn't a momentary thing for us. That's what NY is doing and it is going to fail miserably. It almost always does. Teams like GS and SA think about the long term and we are doing that too. We just need to keep doing it and I think eyes will open up to it.

Patience and persistence, like most things, will prevail.

I think it's the rain. It's depressing to many people. Cold and snowy in one thing, but damp and cold for months on end is another.

GS & SA were able to get two of the best players in the world out of the draft.

Patience....Really?

Yeah, but I hate to say it but SlyPokerDog is a depressing person. I think more than the average, so I can see how some rain might ruin his parade. Puget Sound gets more rain but people flock there.

Just not buying it and this is from someone who has lived in most climates.

Yes. Patience. As you see the organization is trying to take a next step in national marketing. This is just now taking place though. Needs time to take effect.

The City of Portland could help the Blazers with some national promo of their own.

Stop turning this into a me thing (mods? Anyone? I guess what he says is ok? I'm still learning the rules I guess) I love the rain

But you hear from opposing players that they don't like it here (Portland) because it rains all the time. Like it or not, it's a thing.

Oregon is always ranked very high for suicide, and most believe it's because of the lack of sunny days.

As for patience, I'm out. I've been a rabid fan for over 40 years. I've heard all this shit before. Then in 2026 we will land a FA and people like you will say "see, patience"

I agree, that was a personal insult. It is been corrected in the exact same manner I fixed yours.

I really wish you would tag a staff member or send them a private message instead of complaining publicly that this problem wasn't corrected 13mins after being posted.
