Playing tennis up on rocky butte and watching the jets take off on the other side of the road eating lunch with dad sitting on the cliff.

Ferrells. we used to tear that place apart after basketball games in high school

Nickel arcade on 102 and Halsey. Used to ride the bike up there every day and play for hours off of 5 dollars.

Marching in one of the best starlight parades and marching in one of the worst. The best I had a solo in a song right on TV. the worst when it piss poured on us all night long. Those furry hats get fucking heavy when they are wet! The buss ride back to the school was worse than a jr high locker room after Fridays football practice in the sun.

Thats all I have. Pot has sucked up all the rest of my memories. ;)

Sellwood Boys and Girls Club (moved to the Westmoreland neighborhood and now that one is gone)
Mike's Drive-In (Sellwood location on 17th Ave near Tacoma St)
Royal Video (was a couple of blocks from Mike's Drive-In)
El Palenque (El Salvadorian cuisine)
Games People Play Arcade (was on 82nd ave near Clackamas Town Center)
Winchell's Donut House

The Speck...In HS I pumped gas a Toms Gulf just kiddy corner. It was great all the chicks would come in to gas up and I would check their oil, air tires, etc. just to get aquatinted.
Then there was the Pink Bucket close by too.
I grew up on SE 49th, two blocks south of Powell (butted up next to Creston grade school). My brother and I could see the Speck’s revolving chicken bucket sign from our bedroom window. And I remember the Pink Bucket well. Very early on in the shoe game (Onitsuka Tigers anyone??) Nike occupied the building right next door to The Bucket. I remember the Gulf station but usually bought from the 66 station on 52nd and Foster........

I skated there too. Went to the arcade there...Tilt...the movie theatre...loved the pretzels at Pretzel Maker...Auntie Anne' just doesnt do it for me.

Skipped a lot of high school in that mall
My cousin worked at Joe Brown’s Caramel Corn for years. We honestly thought he’d end up owning it. But we got free caramel corn anytime we wanted it. And a lot of times that’s the only reason we would go to Lloyd Center....

The 2 things I loved (still do, I guess) about Portland are Powell's on Burnside (and the technical book store near it) and PIR.
My very first programming class in college was in Visual Basic (haha I know), anyways the professor said go get this book called, "Visual Basic " - I don't remember the suffix, and I went to Powell's where he said to go to get it, and got a book, well everyone in the class brought in a different book. No one had the right book, everyone in the class went 2-3 weeks with the wrong books because he was so bad at communicating what he wanted us to get... It was crazy. Powells was able to figure out the right book and order a bunch of copies for us, so that was good.

Mall 205 when it was still full of stores, and Eastport Mall. Really good memories with my grandma at both.
Games People Play arcade on 82nd. Wish I could remember more about it.
Riding bikes or rollerblading from Montavilla to CTC on the 205 trail and not encountering a single bum. There were also some cool dirt trails opposite of Rocky Butte that we would check out.
The Organ Grinder.
Putt-Putt Golf on 122nd and Stark.
Senn's Drive-In Dairy on 102nd and Glisan.
Farrell's at 122nd and Halsey, although I'm fine with Chang's Mongolian Grill being there now.
Stark Street Pizza; so glad this is still around.
That Changs used to be a Farrell's?

Speaking of that Changs, it's next to a dollar tree and that dollar tree used to be The Refectory. I loved the downstairs of that bar.

That pretty much sums up what has happened to Portland. Swapping The Refectory for a fucking Dollar Tree.

First place I went when I turned 18. I was one of the guys that thought the strippers actually liked me. Didn't take long to figure it out but hoo boy I fell in love every time I went there. I'd ask for their number LOL

I had been to LA stripclubs before Portland strip clubs, and.....the quality in LA is much better, so I didn't really dig Jiggles all that much.

I did, and then George Middle School, then my freshmen year I bussed to Marshall HS and Benson for computer classes.

I went to school in sw Portland. Jackson Middle School and Wilson High School.

Where did you go to college?

PCC / PSU then that was it, had the opportunity to go on to bigger schools and decided alcohol and girls were better choices... - They weren't lol.

When I I had juat turned 18 I remember going to this one club...I don't remember the name. But, it was set up differently than any club I'd ever seen. The stage was in the middle and there were almost bleacher like levels going up above it on the sides where patrons sat.

When they heard I juat turned 18, I guess they have this tradition where they sit you on a chair in the middle of the stage and all the strippers circle you and sing happy birthday and dance on you and rub their breasts in your face and all that.

Did they make you stand up so they wouldn't hurt their backs?
lol, please, please realize I'm joking.

That is basically my story too. I also went to PCC and PSU. I partied too much if there is such a thing.
