I had a sweet Chinese lady in China tell me once that all the dogs that are eaten in the restaurants (in China) are breed for that purpose, but (and she giggly whispered) pet dog actually tastes better, as a stray dog ran across the road. Mind you, this was in a village area near the Myanmar border.

I was in disbelief...
 
I strongly support their right to protest but vandalism completely overrides their underlying (and legitimate) concerns. These (mostly) young people are scared for their future under Trump and I personally don't blame them. But their antics put them in the same camp with the racists and homophobes (who they are essentially protesting against) who are committing their own acts of hate and vandalism around the country since the election. And all these idiots on both sides are doing is widening the already existing (and overwhelming) chasm that has divided this country for decades. A moron is a moron, regardless of their political leanings.......

I was too tired to go into detail about this last night but here is what happened.

The police were lined up in riot gear across one of the streets downtown. The idiots who were breaking stuff had moved on and all that were left where the protesters who demanded to be heard about stuff. They were lined up across from the police about 10ft back yelling different things. Now these people weren't the problem last night but were worked up over shit.

Suddenly multiple smoke bombs landed between the protesters and the cops. Thick smoke started filling the streets, the protesters stepped back. The TV reporter, the protesters, no one knew what has happening. After about a minute the smoke cleared and.... poof! The police were gone. The remaining protesters looked at each other confused and then just all wandered off in different directions.

It looked like something out of a Vegas magic show but it completely diffused the crowd. If the police would have just started backing up the protesters would have continued to follow and yell at them. It was an amazing move and deescalated an angry situation.

Pimp move by the cops to end that part of the protest.

There were multiple groups protesting last night. The majority weren't vandalizing anything and were even trying to get the ones who were to stop.

I understand why people are upset, and I understand the concerns of the people who are protesting.... but why not direct the energy into something that might actually affect change? What they are doing will have zero impact towards their goals (if they have any) and instead all it is doing is disrupting life in this city and hurting the livelihoods of people just trying to live.

I don't understand creating a battlefield in the middle of friendly territory.
 
IM gonna grab my megaphone and after the game, if they are still out, im gonna go off. im gonna pressure them into guilt by yeeling at them that my wife is in labor at home and they are denying my ability to get home and get her to the hospital. IF and I mean IF they are legit caring protestors, they will think twice about what they are doing and get the fuck off the road. If not, they can be tackled down have thier wrists and ankles ziptied and be left there until a Police officer shows up.
