Ish I can understand but Mays? He has been decent. Moses on the other hand is a trainwreck.

Can't they just re-sign them after the 10th?

guessing the back end of the roster will be pretty fluid coming up. reath, mays, badji, the dead salary of evan fournier…

All contracts become guaranteed Jan 10. To clear waivers, you have to cut Jan 7th. Brown may be waived too.

yeah, if Brown becomes guaranteed, that's a 2.1M hit on the cap (according to Spotrac) and Portland is only 3.5M under the tax. If they convert Reath to a guaranteed minimum contract, the cap figure is 1.98M. But, it's more than 1/3 into the season so the actual hit to the cap could be around 1.2M...I'm guessing

Yes. Teams can start signing players to 10 day contracts. After the trade deadline, we can sign for the rest of the season if desired.

I do not think we will miss either.

Alot of mental gymnastics that I am not going to do until after the trade deadline. Just glad we have more flexibility with these two moves and could gain more.

I'm mostly surprised they cut Mays over Brown.
This makes me think they have a trade lined up with a better backup pt guard in the package. Mays to me was the perfect 3rd string pt guard

...who they'll likely be able to pick up again after he clears waivers. I doubt this signals an upcoming trade

STOMP

Moses Brown started and had 11 rebounds in 14 minutes playing time in the 130-113 win at home over Sacramento.

Chris Paul just fractured his hand...Mays could get picked up by the Warriors

no CP3 for ~6 weeks, and Payton strained his hammy. GSW definately needs a ballhandler.

Rupert & Murray might be starting soon. Are they even NBA ready? Heck, it don't matter. They're going to get full CJ Elleby playing time. But i'm sure they'll put up better numbers then 2 points.

Heard Flaker’s are giving Mayes a 4 yr deal.
I wanted to keep him as our fourth guard, 3rd string backup.

edit: I’m not fixing my autocorrect in this. ;)
Highly doubt this is correct. He's on a 2-way deal. I believe it can only be for a max of 2 seasons

Crazy thing is the headline says 4 years, but nothing more about that in the article and everything else says 2 way. No one signs a two way player to a four year contract. Is this just more shitty press reporting with a clickbait headline?
