5 inches up at my house in washington... but down here at work everything is drivable... at least until tonight when it all freezes... and then freezes again tomorrow night when I have to drive back up. Lol.

I have a huuuuuge layer of 1.5 inches of snow. Now it’ll be freezing for two days and it’s an ice rink.

Our whopping 1/2 inch is completely melted. Didn't even need chains all the way to and all the way back from the hospital about 15 miles up and down several hills this morning.
So, where's this big storm?
Crap, even in this day they can't predict shit. I remember the Columbus day storm when there was zero warning. The first I knew the Columbus day storm was gonna be a problem was when the wind started blowing my off the sidewalk and onto the street on my way home from Lincoln High School. The next thing I knew was a policeman telling me to get off the street and into a near by apartment building on S.W. Vista.
I swear, I can tell the weather better than the weatherman by reading the Farmer's Almanac and looking at the sky.

They bought everything in sight. Most of the produce shelves at one store were empty. The line at the take home pizza joint in that grocery store must have had a line two dozen deep.
Then, we breezed to the hospital early early this morning with no all wheel drive and no chains in near record breaking time.

Ya it was pretty nasty at our house. Wife drove me to the airport on the back roads at 9am and we saw a couple wrecks. People flying by us, not realizing how nasty it was.

I don't miss the black ice in Portland...down here in Lane county it's not much of an issue...occasionally...you have good snow tires you should be ok ..don't accelerate fast, make sharp turns or brake fast. Good luck on that trip...hope it's without incident
