Let's not make this too complicated.

I'd be interested in people's rank of the following player's defense. Here's mine:
1) Powell
2) Dame
3) CJ
4) Trent
I know that the trade was a net positive for this season but the fact that we didn't make bigger moves means that the management of this team isn't pushing for a chance at a championship this season. That makes me think about the fact that what I didn't want was to let Gary's value walk out the door at the end of this season, leaving us with nothing. Unfortunately this trade makes that a very real possibility and leaves us with no control over that.
So in essence, trading Hood and Trent means they could much easier sign Nurk (not arguing they should over pay him, he's not proven he can stay healthy) AND Powell (not arguing that he's going to re-sign).
Trent and Hood alone could've accounted for 30 or more million next year. Trent+Hood+Nurk would be a bitter pill to swallow.
Now it might be that Nurk and Powell get 35 between them, but I'd rather have Nurk + Powell (potentially) at 35t than Nurk, Hood and Trent at 55.
We could always waive Hood.
Do you think Powell will be cheaper than Trent? Trent has to improve a lot to get more money.
Hood's contract next yr was a TEAM option and not guaranteedI don't think they can just waive Hood, since his contract was guaranteed for next year iirc.
And I think Trent would cost the Blazers more, since he's younger.

Dude?Their boss died. That's the only reason why they're both still employed.
Woooooosh!Conjecture?
It’s a plain fact that if Paul was still alive there’s no way Stotts would still be here. He had no patience for mediocrity.Dude?
No Sorry. It’s a plain fact that if Paul was still alive there’s no way Stotts would still be here. He had no patience for mediocrity.
Please explain how I was disrespectful. Paul passed away. He’s gone. I was replying to a post saying that maybe Neil and Terry are still around because their bosses know more than we do. Paul hired them and there’s no way they’d still be around if he was still here.No Sorry.
Your idea of "Fact" seems a bit obscure. I suggest you look that word up.
It simply doesn't mean what you seem to think it means.
Also maybe you should practice a little tact and respect for those who have passed.

Damn Rodney was an entirely different player. The movement is just completely different. His first step is completely gone.
Fuck. This is kind of sad.
One of the most fun parts about being a fan is seeing your own players develop. Trent was on a good trajectory, now he's gone.
no, he didn't. he has played in only 19 of their 45 games this season.Somehow Kevin Durant came back completely better with the same injury
That was four seasons ago. That patience would have only extended so far.idk about that. He didn’t fire Stotts after the pelicans series even though everyone thought he would/should. He listened to his star player, so evidently he did have patience for it.
Just stop. That was four seasons ago. That patience would have only extended so far.
I’m going to do what I want. Live with it or ignore me.Just stop.
You are calling this a "Fact"
Just stop.

Well, SAC scored 141 last night starting Fox, Hield and Halliburton.I think Powell should be a starter. Yeah, he's "short"...but while wings can shoot over his head, can they shoot over his arms, when he has a 6'11'' wingspan?
PG: Lillard
SG: McCollum
SF: Powell
PF: Covington
C: Nurkic
I think that gets Portland's best five on the court, with three good defenders (granted, Nurkic's defense isn't ideal for containing pick-and-rolls) and plenty of shooting.

SAC is Olshey’s model for success?
the next season they went to the conference finals. Ain’t firing Stotts after that. Then last season was a weird year and they were banged up. If Nurk doesn’t get hurt they wouldn’t have played the lakers in the first round. And no one else beat them either. So when would he have fired Stotts?
