I know you are a good bunch of guys with good souls. I am not looking for sympathy or anything, just your positive energy and prayers (if you are religious) for my son.

As a lot of you have seen in previous threads, my son was recently a victim of child abuse by either his mother, or her boyfriend. He got hit in the head really hard. Hard enough to make his brain bleed.

My son had a seizure when he woke up this morning and I called 911. Long story short, the injury that caused his brain to bleed in the first place never healed and it is still bleeding. They more than likely will have to do surgery to drain the blood, which requires cutting open my 21 month old little boys skull. That is why he had the seizure.

By the time most of you read this, he may already have had his surgery. They are saying it may have to happen tomorrow morning. Please just send your positive, good souls energy to my son and hope he makes it okay.

This is really hard for me. I am up here alone at OHSU with my poor little boy and don't really have any family in Portland. Thank you for your prayers and love.

Oh man....I hurt for you and your son. All my thoughts and prayers...i really dont know what to say...I hope and pray for your sons complete recovery

the Bible says to me that the "diligent, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much". I can't claim righteousness, but I'm praying pretty fervently for you and your boy now.

Thank you. It is so hard too because this happened from an adult hitting a 20 month old little boy. It breaks my heart that there are people in this world who hit children. I don't understand.

I hope he pulls through okay. I'll pray for him tonight.

Good luck. OHSU has good people, he's in good hands.

Wow, I feel for you. My prayers are with you.

My 1st son had a rough labor. They used a vacuum extractor and popped a blood vessel in his brain. He had a bleed for a while. It was a helpless feeling as a parent, but it seems like you are doing the right thing and are hoping and praying for the best. That is all you can do at this point. The doctors at OHSU are great. Between them and the doctors at Emanuel, you have your kid in the best place possible in the entire northwest. Hospitals fly children from Alaska, Washingtong, Idaho, & Montana to treat critically ill/injured children to be treated at OHSU and Emanuel. The docs will do your son right.

Damn bro, that's terrible and I'm hoping the best for your son...

That's absolutely horrible man. I hope for the best for your son and you and I hope that the 20 year old adult never gets near your son again.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your son. Speedy recovery little dude.

Upon reading this, I just prayed for your son. May God bless him and bring him to full recovery. Praying for you, as well, Dante.

I wish the best for you and your son.

This stuff really is hard to see and hear about it. I work with Child Protective Services every day. I hope the person responsible is held accountable. And I hope for nothing but the best for you and your son. I hope all is well soon.

Post some good news in a few hours!

My thoughts and good wishes are with you and your son. I know how tough it must be, but stay strong. OHSU has a very good rep.

I hope your boy pulls through! That's a terrible thing to happen to a little kid.

Man that is rough. Stay strong for your son. I wish the best for both of you.

Prayers and thoughts to your son for a full recovery. This is a horrible thing to happen and I hope the person who hurt him gets what they deserve. Stay strong man.

Have the police looked into it?

Oh yeah. DHS, Police and everyone is involved. I have 100% custody and his mother is not allowed to see him.

Good luck. OHSU has good people, he's in good hands.

Yeah, I feel really good here. They are all really nice and take good care of my boy.

I agree. That feeling of hopelessness is SO hard to deal with. You go threw your head and think "what could I have done to make this not happen?" but you can't. It is really hard.

Great news!!!!! The docs took another cat-scan and he is not bleeding anymore. They do not want to have to cut into his skull (thank God) today and they have some medication that he can take to help the blood resorb back into his body.

They said there is a 30% chance that we will have to do surgery within a month or so, but at that time, the blood in his head will consolidate more (right now the doc said he is basically bleeding on the entire right side of his brain) and once it consolidates, it will be easier to get the blood out and wont have to take such a big chunk of his skull out.

When the doc told me that, I cried tears of joy. I never heard such good news in my life. I don't want a huge chunk of his skull taken out :(

You guys are awesome and I appreciate the love. You really helped me get threw last night. I really, really appreciate the positive energy and prayers you sent.

Hey Dante, I'm a Reiki Master which is a kind of energy healing that is taught (soon by me hopefully) at EastWest College of Healing arts as part of their healing massage courses. At any rate I would love to send both you and your son Reiki. I wish you the best and hope he has a full recovery in the near future. It's terrible when children are endangered by their parents (his mom etc.) when they are innocent. I will spend awhile sending distance Reiki and hope for the best for you and your son.

Thanks very much. I am going to check that out.

Glad to hear everything worked out well, Dante. Here's hoping the kid has a remarkably long and healthy life.

If you need anything at all, you know where to find us...
