I think you underestimate the value of a veteran. Tolliver is one of the best locker room guys in the league. You never say no to another one.
Pau, I totally get for that aspect, but Tolliver has played in just 13 playoff games in his 11 yrs in the league. He hasn't been in many meaningful games. Sure he's a nice guy and an old head, but playoffs are a different animal and that's when we'll need experience in the locker room. Can he provide that?

Yes. But more importantly there are still a bunch of young bigs on the team. Skal for example considers him his big brother from their time in Sac, so he can still make an impact off the court in development.

Gasol can help and does more than just one thing. I don’t know what makes Tolliver a better option than Skal. I’m glad he’s on the team, but his value is in the locker room.

Tolliver can shoot 3's.

The locker room is a good place for him.

I keed. I keed.

Isn't it really obvious? Toliver or Gasol should not get any minutes unless there's an injury plague.
I think you are wrong on Gasol. That dude is going to help us win some games this season. Thats a smart ass vet who has been there before. You get him the ball in the high post and good things are going to happen. Zac is going to learn a ton form him this year as well.

If I were coaching I'd start him to honor his legacy and start him 3rd qtr as well....like we did Noah Vonleh.he wouldn't be a marathon starter..I think he'd be the best PF on the team with load management.

Like the first substitution and maybe 7-8 mins each half. That might be pretty good. Either way if he could help quite a bit.

That is an option.
I honestly believe he can be a calming factor with that bench unit. Run some high post offense off him. Great passer......he’ll drop backdoor dimes to cutters all night long if everybody keeps moving without the ball. Going to get the calls from the refs. Fantastic pic and roll player. Can’t wait to see him and Ant run it together. ANd like I said, probably going to help this team OFF the court more than ON. Zac will soak all that knowledge up!

I’d put money on Gasol being out there with the closing unit a lot while Nurkic is out. He provides spacing and playmaking Whiteside doesn’t and is a high IQ defender. And with the way Portland plays their bigs, he won’t be exposed defensively on the perimeter. He’s going to be an important part of the rotation imo.

Sorry if this was answered elsewhere, but due to regulations most sporting events can't be broadcasted through streaming apps. I'm not sure why that is, but I'm guessing because an actual radio would play regionally while a stream could be out of the region. Lame I know but I'm sure the NBA, NFL, and MLB want you paying for their service.
Thanks, man. I had NO idea this was a thing.

You put him in pick and roll defense where he has to defend 20 year old guards and bad things are going to happen.

There's so much young talent with potential going around in the scrap heap, it's a waste to use 2 spots on guys who are unusable in important times AND in the future. Would rather keep Laymen instead too.

I'm sorry FAMS, but I will not have time to make the game thread for tonight. Tad bit busy!

Sly you should give a stiff warning. Maybe even a fine.

I was actually at that game. First game in Portland for me in over a decade. I forgot how fun it is to go and watch live. I went to a couple Blazers games in AZ when they come to town when I was living there but that place gave me a headache. They played music the entire pregame, game, and postgame at a level way to much for my old ears.

This was the first time I ever sat court side which was pretty cool.
