Thats what I got on you about. The HCP was just as excited about Vonleh playing well as anybody on here.

Meyers just looked rusty, but like I have said early and often about this guy, he ain't gunna figure out the defensive side, its the one thing you cant teach. He got destroyed by Black, Randle, and Mosgov last night. DESTROYED. He needs time though, and he'll get it throughout the preseason I just don't know that it'll make much of a difference.

Seriously???? Destroyed by Black and Mosgov? In the 20 minutes he played, Meyers guarded Black, Mosgov and Yi. Randle played 34 minutes and was mostly guarded Aminu, Ed Davis and Vonleh. I only recall one time where Randle scored on Meyers (the and 1 - missed the FT - with 4:28 left in regulation). During the 20 minutes Meyers played, he had 11 points and 6 rebounds. During those same 20 minutes, Black, Mosgov and Yi combined for 9 points and 4 rebounds,. So, if they were destroying Meyers, he DESTROYED them more.

Wrong. The only thing that makes their salaries relevant is how they perform while under those contracts. The sample size is tiny, but last night Meyers earned his pay much more than Crabbe did - and this is a game thread specifically about last night's game.

I know. I most often use the word fuck when I'm attempting to be humorous. I almost never use foul language when I'm actually upset. People just tune you out when you're swearing at them. If you really want to get their attention, words longer than 4 letters are generally more effective.

I'm to the point where if Stotts, Olshey, Paul Allen and Damian Lillard value the guy, that's enough for me...perhaps with a little civility towards the roster, we'd have players actually drop in here and start threads...like a 4 bar Friday thread by Dame, but if it's depressing for them to read posts here, I wouldn't expect it soon....Meyers was bothered by fan polarity last season and in the long run...it doesn't help him...I'm going into this season optimistic that he is making the leaps he needs to....he entered the game last night and within seconds had a monster dunk...he blocked shots..set good screens..made a 3..made a bank shot..rebounded...and shook off some rust with missed pass opportunities and fadeaway attempts that didn't fall....his team mates trusted him to take the last shot in regulation for a game winner and he missed it.....Crabbe and McCollum couldn't throw a basketball in a swimming pool last night but finished the game without much fanfare

There were a lot of sloppy and risky passes which really kept LA in the game...need to clean that up but preseason is just dress rehearsal training camp anyway

I'm befuddled by how anyone can look at Crabbe's stat line last night prefer his production over Leonard's. But that's an analytic response, not really an emotional one.

The guy comes back after missing 7 months and has a productive game off the bench, doing all the things you mentioned (he set a killer screen on one of Lillard's made 3-pointers), yet half the people here are bound and determined to shit all over him. I just don't get it. He's on our team, coming back from injury and instead of encouragement, this is what he gets. I'm glad his teammates, coach, owner and GM all like him, otherwise of he ever reads any of this shit, it could be pretty depressing.

I saw the game, too. Obviously I saw it differently.

Yeah the guy has his faults. I get that, and I see them. But I sure didn't see Mozgov, Black or Yi DESTROYING him and I provided evidence to back that up (11/6 for Meyers in 20 minutes, 9/4 for Black, Mozgov and Yi combined during those same 20 minutes).

Perhaps that history you refer to has instilled a negative bias that causes you to see things as worse than they actually are - to focus on the negative and overlook the positive as it doesn't fit your agenda.

Again, 11/6 in 20 minutes is equivalent to 19.8/10.8 in 36 minutes. How is that terrible production for a bench player, especially when he outproduced the guys he was guarding?

One game doesn't a trend make, but this is a game thread and Meyers didn't play all that bad last night. As I said, there were others that played MUCH worse. Yet they don't get nearly the same level of criticism as Meyers Leonard. I just don't get the hate.

I hate it when people jump on the bandwagon, and say "yeah, me too!" However, I'll make an exception this time. Coming from a "rook" point of view, Obrien nailed it. Period. That's GREAT if Denny pays you the big bucks. I'm happy for you. Seriously. I would imagine it's to make the place more interesting. More fun, the good natured heated debated. It's not my board, and not my business, but I have to wonder how many newbs you've run off. I know of one for sure, just in the 2 months since I've been here. How many "guest" lurkers read the stuff you post to rooks, and just said F it, and run off without signing up? Don't get me wrong- I really regret missing the last meet and greet.
