You do realize you are the only person who is crying bout me right? The only others in the past who have (probably 2 or 3) are no longer on this forum. I hate it when people jump on the bandwagon, and say "yeah, me too!" However, I'll make an exception this time. Coming from a "rook" point of view, Obrien nailed it. Period. That's GREAT if Denny pays you the big bucks. I'm happy for you. Seriously. I would imagine it's to make the place more interesting. More fun, the good natured heated debated. It's not my board, and not my business, but I have to wonder how many newbs you've run off. I know of one for sure, just in the 2 months since I've been here. How many "guest" lurkers read the stuff you post to rooks, and just said F it, and run off without signing up? Don't get me wrong- I really regret missing the last meet and greet. It would have been cool to meet you. See the behind the scene stuff you do. I cringe every time you tell a newbie to shut up though. Its old. Just like the Mrs. HCP jokes. I have never posted one, and I think I liked MAYBE one post(because another aspect of the post made it funny). I don't do that, because I feel that would be disrespectful towards you.

It should be obvious by now, that I'm not saying this for me. I really don't care what you aim my way in the future. I like almost everyone in here (except for @Chris Craig . He. is. an. as..... Lol. J/K dude), and I will continue to post. How about cutting some of those other rooks some slack? Just an idea....

@Orion Bailey I hear where you are coming from. HCP seems to be here just to haze the newbies, and reading his post I see he's paid to do it by @Denny Crane. He sometimes might lay it on a little thick, and it might get old, but I take anything @HCP says with a grain of salt. I always go right back at him. I don't necessarily completely agree with his function here, I've got some respect for him. Got to meet him, gave us a pretty damned good tour. Seems like a nice enough guy. I see people messing with him all the time, playing around. Maybe the playing has gotten too rough, I don't know. Like I said take it with a grain of salt. You don't see me desist from creating threads and forum games after he gives me shit because frankly I don't give a damn.

@HCP, @Orion Bailey, @Dougnsalem, myself and some other guys who are fairly new, have spent a lot of time in this forum, and have put a good bit into it. I am not trying to take anything away from the peeps that have been here a long time either. But, I think we deserve some respect for the time we put in. Maybe your not trying to show any disrespect; I really don't put much into what you say when your in hazing mode. But, Orion and Doug feel disrespected, so instead of defending yourself, is it so hard to say my bad man, I meant no disrespect, and ease up. If it's bad enough that people are saying something, and you are running potential members off, then it's bad enough, and maybe it needs some looking at on your part and @Denny Crane

I saw the game, too. Obviously I saw it differently.

Yeah the guy has his faults. I get that, and I see them. But I sure didn't see Mozgov, Black or Yi DESTROYING him and I provided evidence to back that up (11/6 for Meyers in 20 minutes, 9/4 for Black, Mozgov and Yi combined during those same 20 minutes).

Perhaps that history you refer to has instilled a negative bias that causes you to see things as worse than they actually are - to focus on the negative and overlook the positive as it doesn't fit your agenda.

Again, 11/6 in 20 minutes is equivalent to 19.8/10.8 in 36 minutes. How is that terrible production for a bench player, especially when he outproduced the guys he was guarding?

One game doesn't a trend make, but this is a game thread and Meyers didn't play all that bad last night. As I said, there were others that played MUCH worse. Yet they don't get nearly the same level of criticism as Meyers Leonard. I just don't get the hate.

I saw him get pushed around, miss rotations, shy from contact, and generally play the exact same madening way he always had, nothing has changed. Difference between AC and Meyers AC has been successful for an entire season so there is less reason to worry about one preseason game, Meyers on the other hand has not done any sort of thing close to that, so its easy to pick on him when you see the same crap defense over and over and over again. I was pulling for the guy last night cause I felt bad but I saw the same guy I always saw out there and I havent been impressed yet.

This is a game thread. I limited my comments to the game in question. I didn't extrapolate anything. I simply pointed out in this game thread that Myers had a better game than several other players who received a lot less criticism for their play in this game.

Here's what I've learned after 3 games:
1) We are a VERY good team. 2/3 of our players can play poorly, and we still can win.
2) We are a very Versatile team. We've played 3 teams with differing styles and have adapted well.
3) Our defense is still a work in progress. I think our defense will gel midseason, but that could be the homer in me....
4) ET is gonna need time to adjust. So far, it looks like he shouldn't be starting. That's OK, I think he fits in with Crabbe, especially as part of a "long" lineup.
5) Who of the 4 is gonna make #15? It's not obvious any of them will.
6) As opposed to last year, I actually like it when Vonleh is on the court - not sure if it'll happen much, but he's making his case.
7) Harkless is still awesome.

It's true, the average NBA player salary right now is $5,050,957, but it's not that simple. That number includes 592 players currently under contract. At least 142 of those will be cut within the next 12 days. If you just look at the bottom 142 contracts, they are all less than $1 million for 2015-16, and 79 of them are NBA minimum contracts of $543,471, most of which are not fully guaranteed. Another 108 players (including C.J., Plumlee, Vonleh, Napier, etc.) are still on cheap rookie deals. Both of those factors skew the average salary lower than what it would be for players who aren't on rookie deals that will actually make an NBA roster.

I have no idea what the average salary will be for players that will actually make a 15-man roster, but it will be considerably higher than $5 million, but also significantly less than $10 million. Throw out the reasonably cheap rookie deals and $10 million per year (or $9.2 million this year for Meyers Leonard) might not be that far off for the average player on an NBA roster who isn't on a rookie deal.

Not saying Leonard is a bargain, but his contract is not out of line for players in similar situations (bench players who signed contract this summer). Hell, we have two other bench players who make considerably more in Crabbe and Turner.

I grew up around guys that all we did, was crack on each other. Football teams, on the hoop courts, while in the Army, wherever. So after me blasting on these geeks way back in the day, the only thing they had on me was to talk about hooking up with my wife. It's a long running joke that only a couple, including yourself obviously, have an issue with it.

It will take quite awhile, but you'll get me. You'll have to, I'm not changing.
