Who do you feel should make the final roster spot for the Blazers?

Why couldn't Turner be kind of an Andre Miller player, and be good at those short lobs? If he could do that he would be a lot more valuable.

I don't know about the lobs since he needs to play with players who can throw it down, but he is already our best at feeding the post.

Meanwhile last week, OKC, with their stars, could barely beat Melbourne!

Go Blazers!!!
So with this type of thinking we will finish ahead of OKC? Oh wait he can't see my post huh?

So does that mean CJ Wilcox is still on the roster? I thought Briscoe looked quite solid in the time he was given. Not sure how much more he could have done.

Wilcox is on a two way deal. Doesn't count against our 15 but can spend a certain amount of time on the active roster. He's essentially our 15th guy.

Yes, he's on a two way contract so I don't think he gets counted in the 15 man roster since he has to spend most of his time in the G-League.

Further to this, we beat Maccabi Haifa 129-81 with our 3rd string.

At the same time Phoenix beat the Brisbane Bullets 114 - 93 with their regular season starters, and normal rotation players, playing big/normal minutes.

Phoenix won one quarter, Brisbane won two quarters.

The Brisbane Bullets are expected to be a bottom of the ladder team this season in the NBL.

Well Maccabi Haifa finished 8th in Israeli league regular season with a 16-17 record but they had good playoffs reaching the final. For European basketball they are nowhere elite level, below average probably.

I would trade Meyers to Maccabi for the ghost of Josh Smith.

I can't understand us waiving Briscoe. Why does Neil always fuck something up? Morrow also I would have tried to keep and Goodwin I can see not being that impressive but Briscoe I think earned at least a roster spot and IMO also minutes

I'm sure they do, all I was saying is nobody will be there with cameras pointed at the floor and sending a broadcast out into space to share with you all. Somebody will most likely be able to steal the big screen show, but there will be no actual broadcast of the game. I think some on here believe they have been watching broadcasts, when it's the jumbo-torn with the radio guys call over it.

They didn't broadcast the game in an Israeli channel but I'm currently watching the Warriors-Kings game on TV. I think they have a contract of something like NBA TV when they air one or two games every night from across the league

how about that three from Nurk ha
our C shot 6/6 from downtown (Nurk 1/1, Collins 3/3, Leonard 2/2)

Since we have Napier I don't see any reason to keep Briscoe.

It seems like a center has to have a viable 3 point shot to make it in this league and stay playable now. Look at Boogie, Davis, Embiid, KAT, Ionic, and even Bropez and M Gasol.

Briscoe is a different player than Napier. Napier is more of a scorer and Briscoe more of a distributor. And it's not like Napier got more than garbage minutes last year, are we hanging on to him to not give him minutes? We need a reliable option/s behind Dame and CJ. Was a weakness of us last year and is going to be again this season because Briscoe was very much the solution.
But Neil always kicks the bucket. You can't build a contender with less than perfect decision making. Not having Briscoe could make just a minor difference but a playoff series is many times decided on minor differences. On playing CJ, Turner instead of Briscoe, CJ and Turner for example.
It just disappoints me not just because I'm a perfectionist but because these mistakes are important, they do effect our chances

Stotts said they did this due to luxury tax and flexibility. What I what have to say about that is Olshey you put us in that situation.

They're probably waiting for the other teams to decide whom they waive to maybe bring another player. I'd be surprised if we can bring someone whose a better fit, talent, than Briscoe

I wouldn't be surprised at all. I think there is plenty of talent out there that won't make a roster. It's not like Neil signed better players to camp then all the other teams. Players will get cut that can play now. While Briscoe is more of a developmental player at this time.

Or we could just trade for Courtney Lee and try to actually upgrade the team, wild idea I know.

I'm hoping this is due to flexibility needed for a trade to uncrowd our front court & add a nice wing player. :smiley-fingersx:
