Wat to early to even have any idea how good or bad this team will be. Our key guys didn’t even play one of the preseason games. Anyone who thought we’d go into the season and have success was kidding themselves. New coach and complete overhaul of offense and defense. I’ll hold my judgment till about 15-20 games into the season.

I’m not all doom and gloom it will either work or won’t. If it doesn’t you still have dame, Nurk and CJ as trade pieces. You start with 4-5 draft picks plus good players in return and the rebuild begins
The Lakers are in the same boat. But all their guys, minus AD ,are geezers.

Haha this is preseason guys, not much to take from it.

this is going to be a work in progress guys, taking anything away from some preseason guys is silly man.

the Lakers went 0-6, I guess that means they aren’t making the playoffs right? Lol
Then my question to you is, would you be saying this if our team looked great this preseason? If you are comparing our poor preseason to the Lakers preseason, now THAT is silly.

The biggest, throbbing, pustulant negative of this preseason? The revisionists cackling about what a great coach Stotts was.

I don’t remember anybody here saying Stotts was great. Do you? I remember people saying HE wasn’t the LONE reason they kept getting knocked out of the first round.

Wow, I WISH that was the biggest negative.
Find ONE "revisionist" who's saying Stotts was a "great" coach. Go on. We'll wait.

A year ago the Blazers were a house with a leaky roof and a crumbling foundation. Fixing one problem (Stotts) didn't magically fix the other (Olshey). That doesn't mean that the solution was to just ignore both problems.
So which problem does it make more sense to fix first?

Ant & Nas didn't play. They are actual contributors this year. .
This might be my biggest negative of the preseason and one that’s most concerning.
Flat out, no debate these 2 NEED to play well this season, NO QUESTIONS ASKED! I was looking for them to get tons of preseason minutes, put up BIG numbers and to put pressure on Billups to keep them on the court as much as possible come regular season. How’d that work out for us? This was a very negative takeaway for me.

Blazers may start off slow, but they should be better with the additions of Zeller , Nance, and the improved play of Simons, and hopefully Nas. .
This is the EXACT reason we will not make the playoffs. You expecting consistent positive play form the 4 people you just said ‘SHOULD”. What from this preseason I ask you, makes you think that those 4 “SHOULD” contribute?

I do think all the poor shooting was due to weary legs from all the hard work in camp on defense. It's a process.
Bro.
Is this what your taking with you into regular season? That CAMP was wearing them down? Wait til the travel kicks in.

The one that can be fixed. As long as they both get fixed, what is the point of quibbling?

BTW, you can parse the words all you want - you've made it quite clear you think Billups sucks and Stotts is great. Just own it.

I don't recall many saying Olshey was blameless. I sure haven't claimed that. I wanted them both gone, but I will take a coaching change over doing nothing.

This how I look at it do we have the personal to run this defense that Billups wants. What I have seen I say no due to we still don't have enough lock down defenders. The center position has to be very active in the middle I don't know if Nurk is that center plus Zellers might be better fit in that position then Nurk is. Rebounding was problem last year and I see the same thing happened this year running small ball. Offensely it's still focusing on the 3 but getting in different ways with a different offense. I think this season might be a down season trying to get this new look in place. They got until next Wednesday correct a lot problems.

no i wouldn't, its preseason man, winning by 40 or losing by 40 in preseason will never tell you the whole story. I am comparing the reaction to us in preseason, where Dame and CJ didnt play in one of those games and barely played in the others, as well as other starters too and going 0-4 to the Lakers going 0-6 as well. What is silly is we are here talking about preseason lol

How’s that working out for ya?

You don’t think we should be analyzing preseason games? Good or bad? Wonder if our new coaching staff feels the same?

A championship caliber team can lose its star player and still make the playoffs.

A playoff caliber team can lose its star player and won't make the playoffs.

Without Lillard we are a lottery team.
A team with a Super Star thats healthy makes the playoffs and can contend.
A team with a star player may not make the playoffs.

Positives: Formula 1 this season is a cracker.
Negatives: The season ends in December.

So, I hope the Blazers can figure it out by that time, otherwise, not sure what I will be watching as a replacement - because last year tested my ability to enjoy basketball - and I am not sure the signs are too positive for this year, so far.

If not, maybe it is time to sign up for WRC+ and start following rally as if I am living in Europe again.

To a extend, but in the grand scheme of things, 4 preseason games, where we didn’t play our starters in one and barely played them in others, is a very tiny tiny sample size in a full 82 game season.

I have a question for you, don’t you think with a new coach for Dame and Cj, and a completely different philosophy, that we are going to have some rough patches and bumps along the way ?
