Went to the mall today (outdoor mall in Santa Monica) after a long bike ride.

Damn near every chain store was decked out in rainbows. Over the top decorations all over. All the major companies in IG, Twitter and FB put rainbows as their avatars. It was like fucking Christmas.

Is this new phenomenom going this over the top with pride month and rainbows? Is Straight America appropriating the rainbow and pride month from the gays? Will we still have hairy, greased up dudes in leather crotches pants or are they on the outside looking in now?

Don't remember it being this mainstream and curated in the past.

This is a real problem. Seriously.

Dude could have just said their food is crap and left it at that.

This is like some recent discussion here about racism in movies.

If it makes money they'll provide rainbow fry cups...duh. If it made them money they would put swastikas on the fry cups.

There are very few things someone won't do for money.

I'm not saying that a rainbow McFry is a bad thing. I'm saying it isn't just a coincidence that they do it.

Careful there Bodyman! Your beginning to give the impression you look at the world as characters in a fishbowl, you on the outside looking in.
I ain't going to buy those Rainbow fries! But it ain't the rainbow.
From the other side of the fishbowl.

I suggested that it wasn't.

Isn't that sort of like suggesting that water isn't dry? Have you considered telling us that Disneyland is not located in Kamchatka? Or that humans do not have 10 legs composed of moldy cheese?

When I see rainbows I always think the Merry Pranksters are around....RIP Ken Kesey and shoutout to the Rainbow Family nomads still out there in Bluebird Schoolbus Gypsy Wagons and tie dyed attire! Anyone having issues with any gay pride celebrations just proves that gays are just having more fun than you are.

Sly once jammed with Jerry Garcia and Ken Kesey on that famous school bus (there may have been a doobie involved). Now how cool is that.

That's one way to think about it. The other way would be that this entire country has come around to fighting for our gay brothers and sisters.

We all have a family member that is gay, and I would march in a pride rally with mine to show him support. It should be seen as McDonald's saying:

Fuck you idiot homophobes, we're gonna stand for what's right.

But cynics will use their own silliness to explain what we should be doing in the first place, standing up for our fellow Americans who are THE MOST discriminated against in the nation.

The bolded line is just complete bullshit...

I have never had a family member that is gay that I know of. Still, anyone, be they gay, black, brown, yellow or red that gets put down because of their minority status should be protected the way we would protect a White person. I once slugged a guy because he was trying to denigrate my wife because she's Asian. I like to think I'd stick up for anyone else's wife that was going through a similar humiliation.
I'm still trying to figure out how gay marriage somehow denigrates my marriage. Can anyone explain that? I see gays and lesbians getting married all the time and yet, strangely, I still love my wife and she apparently seems to love me, although that part is a mystery to me.
The more a population is discriminated against for no good reason other than they are different, the more I support their efforts to live life just like I do. But for reasons only God understands, I could be one of those 'others'.

My irish cousin is a lesbian journalist...funniest person on earth...when I was young we went out to clubs together and for her, every night was gay pride night...rainbows were not part of the symbolism those days. For her it was her fedora and pinstripe suit that made the statement

What would cause you to fail to carry through with this logical thought? Do you remember the fail?

The bolded line is the truest thing you'll ever read here.

People who get fired up about too many parades or rainbow flags or French fry containers ...might be just a smudge gay.

Yep to all of this. How the F does a gay marriage impact me? Who cares? People who get riled up about gay marriage are weird.

I think its being appropriated by straight people nowadays as a way to virtue signal.
