Pritchards done is this article is even half true.... WOW... Get ready...

Mixum right or wrong, irrelevant. Why hate, he posted an article.
It's the whole "I'm right and you're wrong. If you disagree with me you're a homer." shtick that gets old.

Where's the inside info coming from? LaGarie (sp?) is obviously feeding info trying to create sympathy for Penn and Pritchard. Do I fault him for doing this? No. Do I fault Penn or Pritchard for wanting to secure a more lucrative, long-term deal. No. In fact from what I'm finding, Pritch is underpaid. He was greatly instrumental in turning this franchise around, taking them from Jail Blazers back to The Trail Blazers.

Finding out that he undermined ownership's mandate on Roy and Aldridge's extensions is alarming. But, is this propaganda fed from Seattle down to the fans to help create support for Pritchard's firing? And for that matter was Pritch meddling in the Minnesota-Penn ploy or is that more "creative support" for ownership. The former I'm having a hard time believing.

One thing is certain. The fucking fairy tale is over. I'm a fan. I have been for a lot longer than some fans have been breathing. But I've gained a new perspective as I've gotten older. I've come to relish in the management style of the Blazers. Call me a homer if you want. I don't think I'm the only one that feels Pritchard is one of the brightest young minds in basketball. If that goes, I feel so will my support and interest.

I had no idea the Vulcans played such a huge role with this team. Sad day for me, man. Sad day.

As someone else pointed out, Allen, IMO, has allowed some very good basketball minds to leave Portland. Adelman, Petrie, and even Whitsitt, who I felt was very talented at what he did, and given the "culture" mandate would have turn the team around in a quicker/more successful way than PatterNash.

Fuck. I'm so upset by this whole situation. Gotta keep reminding myself. It's just a game. It's just a fucking game.

I don't know if this article is true or not: if it's not true i would hope for a strong denial shortly by Miller and Vulcan brass, even from Allen.

I know one thing: I never thought of Pritchard as being arrogant (maybe some of his fans though); has anyone who has met him personally thought he was arrogant?

I understand and agree... there are some posters who get a kick out of feeding/bait him.

No one other than Woj and his anonymous sources have called him "arrogant."

First thing KP needs to do is fire that flame fanning douche of an agent. Then work on setting things straight with PA, because he doesn't deserve this bad rep.

My name is Wheels, and I approve this message.

Nope. I've met the man and like him. Seems to me he's about as opposite of arrogant as it's possible to be.

Woj, however, seems like a major douche and has been on KP's case since the Miles letter incident. Whether the letter actually was instigated by KP or not, Woj has had KP in his crosshairs ever since.

Awesome post. Totally agree.

And the fact that we have to call these people Vulcans is making my fucking skin crawl.

Paul Allen has failed at everything he's ever done except being Bill Gates friend. I'm not sure why I expected differently this time. :(

So lets recap....

Peter V is wrong.

Dwight Jaynes is wrong.

Adam W is wrong.

John Canzano is wrong.

Henry Aboott is wrong.

Riiiiiiiiiigggghhhhhtttt.

KP has had a sense of arrogance and need for public adoration ever since he has been a GM (and before then), IMO.

If he is a good GM, I'm willing to overlook these things . . . but good GM or bad GM, if the boss (and his advisors) get the vibe that KP is in this for himself only, do you blame management for letting him go?

I think there is a lot to this article because I (like most on this board) follow every move KP makes publically since being a GM . . . and a lot of the article rings true to me . . . the way they described KP fits with the KP I have been following as a GM.

In this for himself?

What the fuck does that even mean?

He want's to win and sign a long term contract.

Again. They're all right. KP wants more money and he's complaining about it loud enough that someone like the WOJ decided to write an article on it. But so what? KP deserves more money. The Vulcans (Seriously? You name your company after an alien star trek race? :smiley-puke: ) should give it to him.

I don't see the problem here from KP's side of it. He thinks he deserves more money. I don't see any evidence to the contrary. Why aren't the Vulcans giving him more money?

when i hear a rumor about someone or something....

the first time you shrug it off...

the second time... you think about it a bit more...

the third time... im leaning to putting some stock into it

kpee is is done

@JohnCanzanoBFT # Lots of rumblings regarding Kevin Pritchards future w the Blazers today. He's expected to make an announcement in the next 24 hours or so. 15 minutes ago via web

Never mind that it's Canzano that writes a sheer guess piece, and then ESPN posts ties into that piece, and then Wojo extrapolates from that piece.

You've heard it over and over again so it must be true. :tsktsk:

I think that there could be some legs to this story simply because the Blazers haven't given KP a new contract yet. But, as far as I'm concerned, this is just internet gossip until we get an article that is willing to do something other than cite an anonymous source.

I'm going to make a wild internet forum guess here.

KP wants to go a different direction at head coach.

Allen says no.

Pritchard tells Allen it's either him or Nate because he's the GM and doesn't like where it's going. "This is why you hired me Paul."

Allen fires Penn as a warning shot.

Seattle cvnts (unnamed sources ) begin destruction of Pritchard in the media re his ability and character.

Certain fans eat the shit up. claim they "knew all along" the unnamed sources quotes re Pritchard.

Pritchard and Portland agree to part ways.

"One of the best young coaches in the game" enters his second decade of coaching  and manages to send the entire city of Portland into a coma playing dire basketball and finishing 3rd in division each season with our "young up and coming team."

Paul Allen fails yet again as Bill Gates was not involved.

Portland continues to live in basketball mediocrity for the next decade. Again.

Agreed!

The first time I heard someone call you a troll, I shrugged it off. Meh, just a negative nancy is all.

The second time, I thought about it a bit more. You know, he always does try to interject negative crap into generally positive threads, in a concerted effort to derail them.

The third time, I started to catch on to the game, and have definitely put more stock into it. Unfortunately, some it take a couple of hundred times. Well, here's hoping this happens, for your sake. I know you dislike him, and I really want you to have a positive time in rooting for your favorite basketball team.

Woj is a douche, but that isn't the real issue here.

Many fans, myself included, have trouble understanding the idea that the team might value Nate over KP. That doesn't make the claim untrue. A sizable chunk of Blazer fandom would salute KP if he called for Nate to be fired. Even fans who generally support Nate would say "if KP feels he needs to go, it's time." That doesn't mean Allen sees it that way - and at the end of the day, only his vote counts!

They (Allen and McMillan) are both Seattle guys. Seattle pride!

hail blazers... if that makes you feel better lol

I thought it was the garbage conjecture, lack of merit to any post I've ever read and general ridiculousness.

I'm taking a moment from dealing with my father's terminal cancer, not much time left now, and I foolishly clicked into this thread. The perfect mix of ridiculous poster posting an article from the WORST writer in the NBA who has the biggest hardon for Pritchard I've ever freaking seen.

Criticize KP if you want, but using AWOJ as a source? GTFO!
