What do you think the Knicks record will be after Wednesday, April 19th, 2006? I know it's pretty much impossible to tell where they'll end up. They're so many factors involved, but just take a wild guess.

This is kind of tough to say. The off season isnt over yet and we dont know if Houston will be healthy and his health makes a big difference. Assuming he cant play(since everyone else is assuming that)and assuming the roster stays pretty much the same the Knicks will end up 32-50. A little worse than last year. The East has gotten considerably better and the Knicks really havent so they should have a worse record than last year.

Anyway I think Isiah Thomas should be fired.

36-46

new york is still semi-rebuilding with larry brown, not to metion larry doesn't guarantee alot more wins, whe he joined the pistons the first year they only won about five more games.

The Knicks will probably be in the thick of the playoff race, but their lack of experience as a team will probably ensure that they go on a losing streak to close the season. I'd say they have a record of 31-51, although that record won't reflect accurately on their season.

You are ridiculous. The Knicks will not have that record.

Yeah, really Sir Desmond... let's be realistic here.

9-73

Thanks, Shard. There's no way the Knicks are breaking getting the worst record ever.

You know, I'm fairly optimistic about NY...I believe they'll clinch one of the last two playoff spots and will surpass 40 victories...if I had to pick I'd say the team goes 42-40...

Thank you Houston, finally someone a little optimistic with me.

41-41... I think they'll go .500.. they lost like 18 games last year leading in the 4th quarter... that was due to inexperience and coaching. Brown will correct those mistakes.

So that figured... 41 - 41 is the very least they should end up as. Even with the EC stronger.

I predict 82-0. The Knicks picked up three great rookies that are ready for NBA action. They also signed Jerome James, who I think is a great NBA center.

Don't forget my boy Q-Rich, whom they gave up basically nothing to acquire.

I think I've read one too many posts by MrJ in this forum.

Sorry about that.

2-80...Both games will be won when Larry Brown gets frustrated with the Knicks PG's and decides to run the Point 20 some odd games into the season, as a player-coach, before injuring his hip.

I think the Knicks will go 35-47, a decent record but not good enough to make the playoffs. I think the Knicks will lose a lot of close games but they'll win some by blowouts, all in all I think they'll be alright.

This is a Larry Brown team with a lot of talent. 45-37. Knicks are underrated. They will play classic knicks basketball.

35-47

they lost about 18 games leading into the 4th quarter last year.... I'm not saying the Knicks will improve that many games but you figure 10-12 with LB and depth this season.

I'd say 45-37.

Tribute to H20 hit it right on the head: the East improved way too much while the Knicks really didn't do anything substantial (save the easily discounted Eddy Curry, and a fiery swingman in Q). They're still waiting on Starbury more than anything. Thomas refuses to sacrifice his "core pieces" for the pieces they need. Furthermore, I see some real butting head action coming up.

25-57

Yeah, but a little too much talent. Way too many "stars" for LB to handle. Anyways, I'd say about 41-41 or 42-40 record. They either just make the Playoffs or just miss it.

What Stars? No1 from the knicks was an all-star last year. So the knicks have too much talent and thats why theyre going 2 lose. Yea ur smart. I think the Knicks take the 7th or 8th seed.

I think the knicks will do even worse than people are predicting due to the fact that they have no real leader, no defense, and eddy curry. Larry Brown will help them but most of the players on their team are offensive minded. Both Eddy Curry and Larry Brown are overrated. Larry Brown won a champoinship because he had a team that fit his system perfectly. I dont see him going anywhere with the nicks. Furthermore, Eddy Curry can't run, rebound, or block shots. ya and marbury is not the best point gaurd in the nba...new york is lottery bound for sure.

That's why I said stars with quotations. They don't really have any stars if you look at it besides Marbury really, but players like Crawford, Richardson, and maybe even Tim Thomas (if Curry doesn't pass his physical) will likely bring down the team. That's where Larry has to come in and put those players in check because when you have guys like Richardson jacking up 3’s when ever he desires and Crawford over dribbling and taking unnecessary shots it's going to cost the team. But what I'm really trying to say is that the Knicks may have a hard time making everyone happy and that might be the biggest backbreaker. Remember, Houston, Crawford, Penny and Marbury will all want they're fair amount of shots no matter what. In addition you also have Jerome James, Malik Rose, Frye, Curry and so on so it’s going to be hard to make everyone happy. And if you can't see this as being a potentially very likely dilemma then you're blind. And by the time when Brown get through their heads and they start playing real ball (I’ll say probably by the 2nd half of the season) and either just make the Playoffs or miss it everyone is going to ask why didn’t the Knicks play like this earlier?

I said it last season and the type of season the Knicks had proved me right and I’ll say again this time, that Isiah Thomas needs to be fired if not, he needs to get rid of most of this talent and but complementary players around not players that merely has talent. What he seems to be doing is taking the best player and making them play together and that just doesn’t cut it. The Mavericks has been doing it for years and they still can’t get over the hump. Yes, they get 50 wins virtually every year but what do they have to show for all that talent? Nothing. Just a typical 2nd Round of Conference Finals elimination and having high hopes the following year and just for everything to happen all over again. But the only reason they are lucky enough to get 50+ wins is because they have a good big man which is they key to success now a days and most of the players they had/have are non-selfish and having a team with Nash a couple seasons ago at the point it’s impossible for nobody to get at least one touch. But anyways, if Thomas wants to be successful he would look for the best players that can play best TOGETHER because honestly even with Brown at the helm I just don’t see how Crawford, Marbury, Curry, Houston, James, Rose, Taylor and so on can play up to their potential. I could see Marbury, Crawford, Curry and someone like Battier, Brent Barry or even a Rodney Buford playing well together, but again there are just too many distractions. Your sig says it all GotSkillz92.

Avery: Isaiah Thomas should be fired...

I know, look at what Isaiah has done since retiring as a player: A decent stint with a great Pacers team that featured a still-strong Reggie Miller. A brief period of running the CBA--- into the ground. And, now, under his guidance, the Knicks are garbage (even if you think they'll be good this year, they were last season). I think Isaiah is too used to everything working out for him easily since he is such a natural talent. I don't think he views a separation in being a good basketball player and being a good basketball executive. Furthermore, I don't think he and Larry Brown are going to agree on the future of this team.

Isiah has done alot of stupid moves and if he does 1 more, then he should be fired. I don't think Marbury has as much ego as he did last year since he realizes that he's being coached by a serious coach and he can bench him at any moment. LB doesnt take any crapola. I don't see any big distractions this year. They got rid of Tim Thomas and Crawford probably knows he can be benched any time due to H20 and Q-rich. These players arent big stars like shaq and kobe etc. They all have the same goal and thats to make the playoffs. I think they've gotten more mature and will work hard together and give it 100% every night. And it was a horrible example of the Mavs. They're better last year then the year before without nash. They got to the second round this time. They havent won because their defense still isnt marvelous and theyre playing in a real good conference. The Mavs dont have egotistic players either. The Mavs still have to get better to win a title.
