Protesters Storm U.S. Embassy in Cairo

Wow, the Dems on MSNBC blamed Romney for today. I'M SO FUCKING SHOCKED!!

Jeebus, really? LOL

I can't wait for the foreign policy debate. That should be fun. The two countries where Obama replaced leadership attacked the US embassy. Good luck with that one. Having your hand-picked Chairman of the Joints Chief of Staff call some pastor in Florida to try and blame him for some video that he didn't make, a pastor that nobody cares or has heard about other than left-wing blogs, isn't leadership, by the way. It's desperation.

This thread has an even bigger disconnect from reality than the 9-11 truther thread.

I'm in awe.

Amazing ain't it.

If Obama is such a bad president, why do people have to make up reasons to hate him?

Denny Crane, I repped you because you spoke truth - no one blamed Romney for the attack! Anyone who actually watched MSNBC, which clearly PapaG did not, would know that. I mean, is it THAT hard to get facts before spouting off? Is this intelligence in a poster or a presidential candidate?

It seems making shit up is not just something Romney does. Karl Rove spoke disparagingly about "reality based community". He's clearly not the only one who feels that way.

A question, how did Papa G et al react, how would they have reacted, if, say, Al Gore when we first heard about 9/11, before any facts were available, held a press conference calling Bush a disgrace and saying he sided with the attackers? Of course, Gore did not do that as 1) it wasn't true 2) he had brains enough to realize that 3) he had grace enough to know, like most Republicans!, that when the country gets attacked directly or indirectly through embassies you stand together. Oh, but, they will say, Obama really DID side with the attackers - Rush Limbaugh said so! And MSNBC said the attack was Obama's fault - Glenn Beck said so! It was on pajamas media! It's true!

When you have people who normally agree with your side of the political spectrum basically saying you're full of it, maybe it's time to step down and realize that you're doing more harm to your side/reputation/character than it's worth.

And no, I'm not talking about Romney here.

To be fair, MSNBC is a 24/7 Obama infomercial.

Why do you keep spouting this line? Do you honestly believe the US government was behind the "Arab Spring" movement, or are you just being a douche?

Are you familiar with the saying, "All it takes for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing"? That's how we allowed the Arab Spring: We sent the message to those people we wouldn't stand in the way of a regime change and sent the message to those governments that we wouldn't support them repressing their people to stay in power (as we had done before).

Ironically, we sent the opposite message to the brave insurgents in Iran, but who are we to question our Dear Leader? Finally, when it came to Libya, we played an active role in the overthrow of that regime.

Again, the problem comes with our foreign policy. Like a lawyer who doesn't ask a question of a witness to which he or she doesn't already know the answer, it's a cardinal rule of governments that you don't assist in the overthrow of a government without knowing exactly what will replace it.

We did something. We armed the rebels. We bombed the fuck out of Libya.

Was this post in response to mine? If so, note I had written the following: "Finally, when it came to Libya, we played an active role in the overthrow of that regime."

Didn't you talk about a "smirk" on Romney's face?

The rest of your post is your usual pile of steaming strawmen. Kudos for not bring up homophobia, though.

Failures such as this can only be criticized when Bush is President.

With Obama, the blame only applies to Romney for daring to point out the colossal fuck-ups in Egypt and Libya.

why does it always come back to bush with you people? :MARIS61:

On a related note, Obama declined to meet Netanyahu next week while he is in DC because his schedule is too full.

Part of his "full schedule" is an appearance on David Letterman. :sigh:

Obama Announces Letterman Appearance on Day He Snubbed Netanyahu

Good God, dude. I started reading this thread and had to stop on page 2. These people are killing people and blaming America for some stupid youtube video and somehow people like you find a way to blame Obama and make this political. I don't know who's acting dumber, you or the rioters - both have some serious misguided hate. I don't even like Obama but fuck, this is pathetic.

It's the republican thing to do.

Yes, actually, I did mention Romney's smirk. OK, so even if you want to claim the embassy & consulate attacks are entirely Obama's fault and he should be impeached and strung up by the balls, explain the facial expressions in Romney's press conference. Numerous photos were shot so it was not one unscripted second. Smirking, grinning. Tell me, oh wise ones, what sort of person grins over the death of an ambassador and 3 other Americans and possibly up to 10 Libyans?

Yes, PapaG, attack the poster. MSNBC simply did not blame Romney for the attacks. Did not happen. Period. So ignore facts because nasty comments are so much easier.

I watched the press conference, and I know what you mean. It bothered me, too. However, if you watch Gov. Romney often, that wasn't really a smirk, that was his "go to" expression whenever he's not talking and there are cameras on. It wasn't him expressing any kind of pleasure over the incident.

So the US Government now identifies the filmmaker?

Its none of their fucking business.

http://washington.cbslocal.com/2012/09/13/us-identifies-anti-muslim-filmmaker/

ederal authorities have identified a Coptic Christian in southern California who is on probation after his conviction for financial crimes as the key figure behind the anti-Muslim film that ignited mob violence against U.S. embassies across the Mideast, a U.S. law enforcement official told The Associated Press on Thursday.

The official said authorities had concluded that Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, 55, was behind “Innocence of Muslims,” a film that denigrated Islam and the prophet Muhammad and sparked protests earlier this week in Egypt, Libya and most recently in Yemen. It was not immediately clear whether Nakoula was the target of a criminal investigation or part of the broader investigation into the deaths of U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans in Libya during a terrorist attack.
seriously, what. the. fuck.

When his film has directly lead to the looting of government property and the deaths of government officials, he becomes the governments business.

He shouldn't have been outed. Like it or not, our government's first responsibility is to protect its people. It failed in Libya, but hopefully this filmmaker won't be killed.

Also, several news outlets have quoted a Libyan deputy interior minister which said this film was a smokescreen for a planned terrorist attack on that embassy in Benghazi.

Yeah. God damn freedom of speech and god damn america!!!!

Not his fault those muslims are batshit insane.
