Quick: Andre into starting lineup, Blake sitting

Yeah, I'll put a bet on that we'll never see that lineup, unless we're down to five healthy players and those are the only five left. Even then, Nate might go 'Hoosiers' style and go with four men on the floor.

Hah! Why do you think Nate suited up for practice today? That way, if we do get down to 5 healthy players he can insert himself into the starting line-up in yet another bizarre 3-guard line-up - thus insuring Andre Miller will never, ever, ever, no matter what, start in a conventional 2-guard line-up in a Blazers uniform.

Evidently, there is something very dark and sinister at work here and starting Miller, as a Blazer, in a conventional line-up, with all starters playing their best, most natural, most comfortable positions will lead to the downfall of western civilization.

Who gives a fuck? If it means a shot at HCA in the play-offs, I'm all for it. Western civilization be damned.

My biggest worry was that it would be a pseudo start. Like with Batum where they would play him for 5 minutes at the beginning of each half, but Blake would still get like 36 minutes. Then Nate got hurt, and that worry went away.

He may not be the one defending them. They might switch on defense. I wouldn't be surprised if they put him on the PG and Miller on the SG, and Roy on the SF.

Wasn't Roy just saying that he was the one who sacrificed the most by sliding over to SF for 9 games and guarding bigger guys and that he was glad to be back at SG. How is he going to feel moving back to SF. He can't be happy about this.

Anyone else feeling that they're doing this to showcase him for a trade?

Yes and No. See in the recent games, Martell (who has scored pretty good in 2 out of the last 3 I believe) had been the guy playing with Oden. He was making the entry passes to Oden and getting the open 3's because they were double teaming Oden. The problem was that swings the ball from Brandon, and he ends up standing around. But if Brandon becomes that guy who feeds Oden, then our offense dynamic changes. One play it's Roy and Aldridge playing the 2 man game. The next play it's Roy and Oden playing a 2 man game. Every play Roy is involved and he is happy. Maybe every few plays, Roy takes a break for 1 play and Miller creates. Rudy is the pressure outlet in all situations. Play breaks down go to Rudy for the 3 or to create quickly. I think this can work. It may suffer some defensivly, but Rudy making steals should help make up for that. He easily leads the team in steals.

I bet there's a really good chance Miller does do well in his first stint as the solo starting PG, and Nate still ditches it and we're back to "stable" Blake.

It's not if Miller does well . . . if Roy plays well, Miller will start again. :D

You mean what Nate did last year . . . the 54 win season with the second youngest team in the league?

I know . . . they won 54 games in spite of Nate. ;)

I really don't understand Nate's fascination with Miller and the 3 guard line up. It's almost like he is setting it up to fail because Roy will bitch about playing the 3.
