I have not seen one single person say it's all on the D.
 
I sent my warning flares out about Girardi two years ago and they went unheeded..:)
 
When the same guy makes two bad reads a minute apart that both lead to goals, it's going to get talked about.

You are the ONLY one saying it's not the defense chuck. I'm fairly certain we ALL know offensively we need help, but for YEARS we were a team that typically won games 1-0, 2-1. Now we are losing those games 3-1 because of a COMBINATION of the fact we can't finish (which we haven't been able to do for almost 5 years now even with Torts) and we are awful in the dzone with not being able to clear the puck or win board battles. I'm not even singling out the dmen. The team AS A WHOLE sucks in the defensive zone. Playing defense is a heart and grit and guts thing. This team lacks ALL of those. That's why we get pinned in our zone for minutes at a time. That's why we suck so badly on the PK.

THANK YOU PROD!!! I think chuck is thinking we are all thinking the defense sucks but offensively we're fine. Right now, this whole year actually, we've been AWFUL defensively and offensively. There's just not one facet of this team that you can HONESTLY look at and say "we are doing this well."
 
He was being grossly overrated back then. He just wasn't in full decline like he is now.
 
Now they need that big pussy Hayes to step up. Plays like another big pussy. We have two huge pussy forwards who play like they are 5-11
 
It's fucking comical now. Bad turnover but then Staal and Girardi leave a guy once again WIDE OPEN in front. But yes chuck, the defense is FINE.
 
Not sure you can fault the defense there, at that point it's a complete scramble.
 
J.T. Miller makes the same mistakes he made 3 years ago. Talking about dumb hockey players this franchise drafts.

The issue is they BOTH let the player skate past them to the front of the net and neither took him as their man. This team in the dzone seems to pass off the man in front of the net to the next guy A LOT with pisspoor communication as to who's supposed to take him.

There's not much he CAN do. All the guys we would like to see moved have a NTC. He's handicapped by Sather's idiocy who was given a green light to do whatever he wanted to by the moronic asshole of all moronic assholes James Dolan. This team needed a REAL GM 3 years ago when we brought AV in here. Instead we got Sather for two years and now Sather-lite.
 
Now THAT is the season in a nutshell. Brassard deflects the puck into the open net after this team can't do anything with an extra attacker and can't even get out of their own end of the ice with the extra man. Oh well. This team "is what it is." Will be an interesting offseason. Hopefully we see A LOT of moves in the upcoming weeks and summer.
 
Another great signing by Sather and the boys club...Derek Stepan -the next coming of Chris Drury ! Same brittle player who's always hurt...and slowed to a crawl. He has been no where to be found ! 5 on 5 he has been a useless 3rd liner for most part. On the PP this guy has 4 pts this year ! I'm sure he'll get quicker as he gets older !
 
Team only scores two again, including 25-30 minutes against a backup goalie. The Caps score 2 goals 5 on 5 (empty net goal is whatever), and one of them was a horrific play by Miller. Yet let's blame the D again. Not much to say anymore. Like I said I am done debating it. You guys win...the D sucks...we should win every game 1-0 or 2-1...I agree.

Like I said before the game 5-2 final...exactly the game I expected.

Our special teams are garbage and we don't score goals. Not a good recipe for winning.

On we go.

I'm all for paying a world class goaltender like Hank top dollar but thinking I'd be much happier with McIlrath, Skjei and Graves on defense collectively making less than Boyle. Well we've seen that last year's President's trophy and home ice advantage didn't get it done, perhaps AV is going for the opposite this year. Still going to the playoffs and then hope the law of averages turn in their favor - too many guys underperforming right now. Tough spot for Raanta to get his first action in a month against the Caps, any player would show rust after that long a layoff. The whole team needs to shoot more, 27th in the NHL in shots but 4th in goals scored.

I guess the Ranger CORE didn't get their fill of Mr.
Williams when he torched Rangers in 2014 SC finals;
one thing for sure, they still do not know how to
slow him down. A body check might help!
 
Kreider seems to be finding his stride. Hopefully Hayes will soon as well. The D will hopefully continue to improve as the season progresses, especially Staal and Girardi. And I have to think sooner or later we will add a forward.

Pres trophy means nothing, very rare the Pres trophy winner wins the cup. Just get in.

A lot of hockey left to play, I remain hopeful.
 
Just saw this. I truthfully didn't even realize it:

Rick Nash and Mats Zuccarello have not scored in 2016. That can't be. Nash has had moments the last few games where he is strong and going to the net but he needs to be more consistent with it. The way he looked in the third tonight was how he needs to play all the time. He needs to be fast, powerful and take the puck to the net.


It would be nice if Nash took the puck to the net and Zucc actually shot every now and then. That would go a long way in helping us win some games.
 
Does not look like this is the Rangers year. There is just something odd about this group this season even if they add a forward.
 
Just get Rick Nash off this team, please. This guy shrinks in the big games and never takes charge. It rubs off on other guys. I am so sick of him.
 
Zucc should never play with brass because all they do is look for each other to pass to. They forget to actually shoot the puck when there is an open lane.
