Rangers-Boston Saturday

I still have a lot of confidence in JD and Gorton. The Schneider move was an enormous HR. The Cuylle pick is the kind of player we haven't been drafting. We have been taking soft Euro pussies. I liked the draft a lot. After that, they have sucked. The Johnson move was terrible. Not getting rid of Smith or sending him to the minors was terrible. Letting Quinn play with these no talent scrubs is terrible. I respect Blackwell. He's a good kid. I absolutely would want him on my AHL team as an example to develop our better prospects. I would pay him well there also. Same with Di Giuseppi. They aren't NHL players. Simple as that. Howden, I could see on another team with a fresh start. I said earlier. If Calgary won't move Bennett, I would love to take Lucic and a second with half retained for DeAngelo and Howden. I don't want anybody getting run without major consequences the next 3-4 years. It's worth having Lucic around until Lafreniere, Kakko, Chytil, Fox, Miller, Kravtsov, etc.... mature.

Rooney isn’t that bad. Blackwell is decent. Problem is we wanted to see LaF and Kakko play well, not bottom 6 depth forwards

I have a feeling Barron will be in the lineup sometime this week.

Chuck, in regards to Gauthier. You might be right on Gauthier, it is very well possible that the kid doesn't live up to our expectations. We are judging by his career numbers, which were good. We also see his plays now, for example, his power moves towards the net where defensemen have difficulties and he draws penalties. That alone is enough to keep him in the lineup. Put the kid with top players for an extended number of games. Let him develop. Put him on with Zib, or Panarin and Strome, see what happens. LAF had a two-point game playing on a top line, but it took a few games for him to develop chemistry with some guys, with top players. Quinn puts kids (LFA, Kakko, and Gauthier) with top players for two games and then changes the lines the next game.

Do you know why USSR had the best team in the world year after year? Not because they were so talented, which they were. But because when they put the national team together they would yank lines out of the clubs, not individual players. Those lines had names, like group names. They would take 3 players out of one club and the next 3 out of a different club and the same with defenseman paring.

Quinn changes lines every game.

LFA, Kakko, and Gauthier have to play on the top 9 and each on a different line for now. Kakko has to be on the top PP unit and Gauthier should be on the second PP in front of the net, instead of Lemieux. I have nothing against Lemieux, and I think Quinn was right putting him in the game with Boston, I like Lemieux. But playing Blackwell, or GeZippie on the top 6 is the reason why we are not happy with Quinn.

It's the same almost every year with the Rangers. Incompetence. Almost every year run or coached by incompetent idiots. Been that way for every season but a handful. One of many reasons Quinn is a bad coach is because he gets these weird personal issues with players and can't get over them. He had it with Andersson. He's had it with Kakko at times. He has it with Gauthier. I can only imagine what he will have with Kravtsov. Granted Andersson has done nothing for the Kings. However, is it a question of he's ruined himself or was it Quinn? Or a combination of both. These players are just kids. When you have a coach like our dumbass coach, jerk them around, bully them, bench for them shit vets do and never bench the vets, put them on lines that make no sense for their skill set, it's a recipe to ruin young players.

You guys are so ridiculously nitpicky and over the top, no coach can live up to your expectations.

To even mention Andersson is a joke. The guy was terrible with the Kings, and now isn't even playing because how bad he is/was. But I know that one is Quinn's fault. Must be because like McIlrath you loved him, and you cannot be wrong fake Rangers fan.

As for Gauthier, you miss the point 2009. If it were my choice he'd be on the 3rd line as the 9th forward (until Kravtsov gets here), but I am not going to nitpick my coach on every move he makes, and call for him to be fired because he does something I may not agree with. It may just be possible he has more info and knowledge than I do, but I know that is a foreign concept to you nitpicking "fans".

And guess what, coaches, GMs, President's etc. all make mistakes, that's life. I don't expect my sports leadership to be perfect. I will judge them overall on W's and L's, and to me given the Ranger have been in self-proclaimed rebuild mode, Quinn has done okay. The team overachieved last season, and they are right around where you'd think they would finish this season.

We'll see where the season goes from here, and if they finish in the same range, I think next season becomes the show me for Gorton and Quinn as I expect improvements this offseason, and a team ready to win next season. If that doesn't happen, then I'll be calling for someone to be held accountable. But Gorton/Quinn deserve that opportunity IMO.
