They get caught being too weak on the puck sometimes. At 4-1 get the puck out of there. An icing isn't the worst thing in the world with a three goal lead.

32-0 shot attempts the last 15 minutes Mess...wow. Their best game for sure.
 
I was worried about tonight's game also jam.

As for MSL, I just don't think he has the gas left to be more than a 3rd line guy now. He wins ZERO puck battles. It is crazy.

That's the problem, they don't try and ice it. they try to be to cute and bang it off the boards, to prevent the icing.
 
Take note that Chimera and Ward are the oldest Cap players.
Chimera is 36. Ward is 34.
Not surprised OV boards McD......that's his MO and nothing
is called. But if a Ranger did that to OV, it would be a 5 min
major.......because OV would put on a writhing, poor is me,
show. Ov's intent is clear....To injure. Remember it has been
McD blanketing OV since Game 2. Just saying.
 
Girardi's been solid in the postseason but man he was shaky tonight. The Caps don't exactly make it easy to be fair i guess. They wait too long making a decision.
 
Also, Hank has been leaving too many rebounds......
this game. So unlike him.

If you ask me there's no explanation for that hit except an intent to injure. The puck had been moved so what is Ovechkin doing there?
 
What a game! What a sport! These next three work days are going to be torture.
 
Playing to get to the ECF for the third time in four years. Pretty hard to believe if you have watched this team for a long time. Come on they have to take this game seven. You just know that building is going to be crazy.
 
My damn DVR didn't record the game!!! ARRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!! At least we won and I got to listen to the game. Most stressful drive home from the airport I've ever had. Started out great when we went up 4-1 and then turned into sheer anger and frustration when they mounted the comeback. Did I hear correct that we didn't even get a shot on goal after Boyle's goal???
 
The last 15 minutes of the game the shot attempts were 32-0 Caps I believe. Crazy stuff.

Yeah it was ridiculous how they were on their heels after going up 4-1. Clearly they relaxed and stopped playing. They need to stop letting that happen and play the full game. There was no reason to change what was working.

That should have been a penalty. I know it's the playoffs, and they let a lot go, but that was blatant. I hope AV does politicking to the media.
 
Re watching the 3rd period much more relaxed this time.....Caps really impressive in those last 12 min skating hard AND hitting every play. But there's a reason they are playing so desperate they know they are in trouble at MSG.

Rangers also were their own worst enemy with constant missed assignments of not taking the body and giving Caps forwards open ice.

Also what is ridiculous is the Rangers scored on 3 of their last 9 shots but only got those 9 shots since the end of the 1st period. They have to be way more aggressive on Wednesday even if they get a lead.

Definitely the best Caps period by either team in the series but they won't play anywhere near that effective in G7. I am very confident mostly because Lundqvist is light years better than Holtby in elimination games.
