I am usually pretty optimistic but I agree with Al. Sather wont sell but he should at this point. We have a great 2-3 year potential window though starting in 2015 and that is how this team should think. Lots of cap space coming up. Need to get creative on trade front.
Oh and need to dump our Captain before Wed
The problem I think we all have is that we feel there is no plan of attack by the front office.
It shouldn't have come to 3 days before the trade deadline to either have Cally signed or traded, same with Girardi and even Hank.
You give up all leverage with other teams when they know you wont (or shouldn't pay what Cally is asking) now we have to give up an asset like a Kristo to pawn with Cally on getting back someone decent. Or do we just lose Cally altogether and get nothing for an asset that may have gotten back something decent last summer?
A small group of posters said a few weeks ago we should be sellers and it made sense, now we are closer to the deadline and still no better than we were talent wise, less games remaining and lost value on our assets. Terrible managing.
I fear like Chuck we will not do anything in the next three days, maybe get in the 8th seed bet destroyed in the first round and get a middle of the pack 1st round pick which we will use for an offensive defensemen that may or maynot be good in three years
