Me and Trail_Blazer76 are going to get Jersey's even thou we are in different places. The Blazers will not be as exciting without there front man Rasheed Wallace. He was our energy with his high impact slams. Now we really only have one person who can jam really well Darius, and he may not even be here next year.
 
It's rough man. I always hear people say that being a fan of the player makes them a fan of the team. I used to think that's how I was, but when Bonz got traded I didn't become a grizz fan. I doubt I'll become a Hawk fan now either. We still have DA and Mouse, and I think they are safe.

I'm a true Blazer fan. I bleed red, lol.
 
I will always be a fan of Rasheed Wallace... Don?t worry about him being on the hawks that most likely will not be true next season... What if Rasheed Resigned with the blazers and came back ha-ha that would be so cool.

DA is cool but not one of my favorites. Mouse, Darius, Sabonis, Rasheed, Clyde, Clifford, Bonzi, those were my favorites and most of them are no longer playing for the Blazers.

yeah i like gilbert but i'm not a wizards fan... maybe yet... the way they're playing now it's tough not to love them... and i also like nuggets because their jerseys are so so so nice and they are playing well (rebounding from sactown's blowout loss) for a home win vs seventh-seeded Grizz.... but i have no fave player there....

I think there's a reason Blazers trading him for Reef, and it's not like Sheed wants to resign with them anyway since he declined the contract extension from the team earlier about one-two weeks ago....
 
Shareef must have been ecstatic when he got the call from Billy Knight saying he was being traded to the Blazers since he has publicly stated he was unhappy in Atlanta (can you blame him? haha). We all knew that Sheed was going to be traded somewhere, we just didn't know where, I don't think anyone would have ever predicted this trade to take place.

I really don't think the attendance at Hawks home games will change dramatically. I'm sure for a few weeks it will slightly rise just due to the curiosity factor and the fact that the media will be all over this deal. Personally, i'd rather see Shareef playing than Sheed.

This deal is just temporary for the Hawks, I think the real shockers will come in the offseason, I can't wait to see what moves the Hawks will make when the season is over. This was a fantastic move for the Blazers and i'm sure a lot more people will be paying attention to them now.

I don't understand why you Blazer fans are that mad. Yes, Sheed was good and has been there for awhile, but your team has DRASTICALLY improved. IMO Shreef Abdur Rahim > Sheed(and without the problems), Ratliff, Dickau >>>>>> Person. You guys have a legit shot at the playoffs and advancing far now. I figured I would come to this board and see everyone happy, not everyone mad. I had Sheed and Shreef on my fantasy team last year, and Shreef had a better season than Sheed.

He's really changed in my eyes, he's gained a better attitude. Did you see his expression? Also earlier he's been nicer to players and the fans, especially since Bonzi left. I was hoping the trade would happen next year instead. Great gain for both teams, finally the Hawks will have some attitude, in a good way of course. An awesome blocker for the Blazers and an offensive force and boarding force to aid Randolph. I was still very much saddened seeing him go.
 
I know, if I was a Blazers fan, I would be estatic! You finally clean up your image a little while improving your teams talent, and you lose a locker room cancer.

Now we will probably have to make Dale Davis a starter again. Sheed could guard all of the west's center but 1, and now he is gone. Our starting lineup was doing so well, and now we have to change it again.

Besides, I am still trying to figure out why people are so impressed with 'Reef's stats. Who was he going up against? Worst case scenario it was JO, but can he put up 20-9 against western pfs? I doubt it, and I am still very skeptical about this trade.

Ratliff is very good at defense, I don't know why you think lowly of him. He is a great defensive threat, and he is a true center, something you needed.

20 and 9 is good in any conference. And he doesn't have to score a lot now, with Randolph there. They should play good together, I just don't see why you don't like this trade.

I don't think lowly of him, I didn't even mention his name. I just think higher of Sheed and he was gelling in the new lineup.

I never said that those weren't good stats, but he won't be able to continue them in the west. We still need him to put up at least 17 ppg to make up for Sheed. If you think about it, he needs to do better than Sheed to prove that it was a good trade for us.
 
I think that DMiles will get delegated to the bench now. Three huge trades for Portland this season, and in all of them, the Blazers got the better end of the deal. Derek Anderson will probably get to shine for the rest of the season, but the enormous frontcourt will outshine him. Man.
 
Shareef puts up better stats against the big time players than he does in the east believe it or not. Has had big time double doubles against Duncan,Garnett and Dirk,Jamison,Walker e.t.c all in the past two weeks.

There is no doubt he will continue to put up very good numbers. Dale Davis will not start, can't see your thinking behind that.

Put it this way Blazer fans, you got way more than you should of got for Wallace.

Because I would never take a center straight out of the east and automatically start them on a western squad. You might be right though, but only because of the fact that Cheeks and Davis had a run-in earlier this year.
 
Dale Davis is getting worse, becoming a guy who can give a team just 10-15 minutes a game. Theo Ratliff will be your starting center and will not only give you more in terms of scoring and rebounding than DD would but will bring a shot blocker which is what you need considering Randolph's defensive skills.

I honestly don't see a better deal for Portland that this, surely you would't of liked Kurt Thomas and Keith Van Horn instead?

Hell no. And I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't happy to have SAR. But I also would have like to see Sheed end up in a better place, as irrelevant as that might seem. I would have loved him in Philly, but I wouldn't really want big dog on the blazers. I would have also liked him on the Knicks, but you and I both know that KVH is a cancer.
 
KVH isn't a cancer...he's just not there in any shape or form.
 
I think Rasheed brought more than his stats really.. Thats why I am upset hes gone.. This is part of the business though.. Players get traded, and theres nothing you can do.. I'll still like Rasheed, but I won't like the Hawks.. Sure we are getting a HUGE advantage on this deal, considering that we are getting all the Hawks had.. Theo leads the league in Blocks, And he also pulls down a nice amount of rebounds.. SAR is nearing a Double Double in PPG and RPG.. That's amazing really.. Coming off the bench now for Randolph.. Like others said the front court is amazing.. Still the knowing of Rasheed being there is gone.. I hate to see him leave... Because he was my favorite player, and he is the reason I like the blazers.. Its going to be tough seeing him in a different Jersey.. But its going to happen.. Oh well..

Still we DID get rob them Stat/Talent wise, considering SAR and Ratliff are better than Sheed put together.. Still there is no replacing Sheed in non-stat wise..

oh well...Damon Darius and Zach with the addition of SAR and Ratliff? obviously Blazers came up with the win...they could be some competition in the west now...maybe Sheed can end up in Memphis next season.

This is a chance to see what SAR can really do, and with Theo in the line up, Blazers might be better than before. Sheed is better than SAR one on one, but I think this was a deal to help the Blazers. Blazers now have a defensive monster and a top PF in the league. Did anyone know that SAR is one of the best FT shooters in the league? I'm surprised myself. He shoots 88%!!!
Blazers now have a chance to work their way back into a play-off spot, SAR is a great addition. I guess my article a month ago wasn't that useless after all...

Great trade for the Blazers...

I agree with All Net, they got more than they should have.

I hope the Sixers can somehow deal for Sheed...

I was in the mall today at this sports merchandise store called Sports Seasons and the manager was asking his employee about whether they had already dropped the price of the Rasheed Wallace jerseys.

I got a current (no retro jerseys for me) Rasheed Wallace Nike Swingman road jersey for $34.99 !

Yeah I called just about every store in town today. I found the exact same jersey you are refering to for the same price. The guy said there are only 3 left so I will probably go and pick it up tommorow.
