I got the 3 at a time plan. Its worth it to me, I canceled it for most of the school year because I didn't have time to watch movies but during the summer its awesome since theres so much downtime.

Street Kings - 9.8/10

Great mutha fuckin' movie. Everyone is crooked as fuck but it was great.

We Own the Night

1/10

Just watch the first minute of the movie when Eva Mendez shows some nudity. The movie goes down hill from there.

Damn. You'd think a nekkid Eva Mendez would guarantee like a 3 or 4 out of 10. I guess the movie is just THAT bad.

Collateral: 8/10

I bought it again today, it was on sale for $5 @ Best Buy. I forgot how bad ass this movie was. The only movie I can tolerate Cruise in.

I thought MI3 was nice. I haven't seen Magnolia yet.

28 Weeks Later - 8.5/10

I honestly thought it was better than the 1st one. A little better, at least. It was pretty sweet how everyone died.

Red Dragon

6.5/10

Better than Hannibal, not as good as SOTL, but much better than I expected. (Especially considering Brett Ratner directed)

This movie is all about the cast. Put high powered actors in your average flick, and it becomes a hell of a lot better.

In addition to Anthony Hopkins returning to his most notable role, you have --

Ed Norton as his nemesis, FBI profiler Will Graham
Harvey Keitel "Mr. Wolf"ing it up as the FBI director
Ralph Fiennes as the serial killer
Emily Watson as his blind love interest
and Philip Seymour Hoffman as a sleazy journalist

There are also roles for Mary Louise Parker, "Lost" actor Ken Leung, "The Wire"'s Frankie Faison (who was also in SOTL), and the awesome Anthony Heald ("Boston Public") as the not-yet-dinner Dr. Chilton.

That's a lot of incredible star power for one movie.

This isn't as good as last year's "Zodiac", but it's definitely worth checking out if you enjoy this genre or just like Lecter.

I believe the ending was really changed from the novel.

Paper Clips - 9/10

10 for the movie, -1 for the cheap DVD with subtitles that not only can you not turn off, but are filled with code like WashingtonPost that the subtitles software didn't understand and they apparently didn't bother to check.

Ironman

9/10 : Probably the best comic book adaptation since Batman Begins. Robert Downey Jr. did a good job and the director did a good job of staying faithful to the Ironman story while making it more relevant to today's audience. The graphics were awesome.

Indiana Jones and the ... something about a skull

2/10 : Seriously are there two more currently overrated directors than Steven Spielberg and George Lucas? They've maintained credibility off of their early works and reputation for years now without creating anything substantial. This was a phoned-in piece of crap that they knew would make big money, regardless. The plot made no sense, the graphics were abused and not even that great, and Indy may as well have been the narrator.

8/10

I thought this was a pretty good movie. The only problem I have with it is that it seems to drag on and on and on. I watched this movie last night, and I didn't really think much of it, probably because I was so tired. I didn't realize that it was nearly 3 hour movie, and I didn't want to stop right in the middle of it. But all in all it was a pretty good movie, I'd recommend it if you're into gangster flicks.

Also, I have a question. This is supposed to be based on a true story. Did Frank Lucas really have that many brothers, and did he end up screwing them up that badly? Also, did he ever get into contact with his brothers after being released from prison?

Hmm...

Semi Pro 8/10

It was pretty good, and pretty funny. Not a bad movie at all.

Dude...I saw that new Rambo movie...

4/10

Into-the-wild.jpg

7/10. Decent movie, somewhat interesting and has some decent themes. Won't wow you with directing, action, themes, or acting but just a pretty decent all around flick.

Junoposter2007.jpg

7.5/10. Wasn't really funny but I wasn't expecting it to be either. A couple of chuckles, entertaining throughout, pretty good acting, had some worthwhile themes which I didn't really expect. Pretty solid movie but not great.

Man on Fire: 9/10

Such a bad ass movie. I absolutely love Denzel's character.

There, I just saved you 2 hours. You can search for the clip that shows her ass.

gattaca.jpg

7.5/10

Both underrated flicks.

I don't know anyone who talks bad about Donnie Darko. It's highly appreciated by most people.

As for Gattaca, I agree. I enjoyed that movie.

Yeah Donnie Darko is kickass. I was just thinking at work today about renting that again because I want to see it a second time. Mamba, you can relate to the unmatched depth of thought that one can only experience when working at Longs Drugs.

7.5/10. Cute movie. I don't like using that word but that pretty much sums it up. It reminded me A LOT of Meet the Parents- more of a romantic comedy though not as funny throughout s Meet the Parents but it has several humorous moments. It was a good refresher because I've been watching a lot of violent, dark, depressing movies lately. This got the job done, its funny, not hilarious, but funny, its uplifting. Nothing great but solid movie. Also bonus points for introducing me to Juliette Binoche. Cute (again, don't like using this word but it describes her perfectly) milf who you would want to bring home to mom, shes got a sexy light accent too.

I heard it was an average film. I haven't seen it, but I will.

I'm jut glad it's not a porn/gore movie like Hostel.

Hostel made me want to puke. It's been the closet I've ever been to puking, without actually puking. It was so bad, I couldn't believe it.

Hostel put me to sleep. I didn't even find the gore all that disturbing.

OrphanagePoster.jpg

The Orphanage: 7.5/10
Not bad. It loses marks for not scaring me at all, but it did have its creepy moments and the story was kind of cool. The ending reminded me a lot of Pan's Labyrinth.

Well that makes one of us.

LMFAO I just saw this post.

I was browsing through this thread looking for some more movies to buy/rent...I was crackin' up.

Does anybody have a link to the old movie thread?

I agree the movie did keep dragging on and on I waz like when are y'all gonna get tot he really good part. overall it waz a pretty good movie 7/10

Just watched I am Legend,

I'm not sure what to really give it. Without Will Smith, it wouldn't have been a good movie. I'll say 6.0-7.5/10. I just can't decide. Sam was the second best character in the film lol
.

I would prefer the 2nd ending only if there was going to be a 2nd movie. Otherwise I kind of prefer the 1st.

Nice find though, thanks.
