Don't bother with the sequel.

Sequel was actually pretty good IMO. Not as good as the original but I typically go into sequels expecting them to suck ass and this one did pretty well to maintain the same quality and style.

Obviously it took a hit by replacing Dafoe with that chick but it was still a solid movie. 6.7/10 on IMDB isn't a bad rating...

The problem I had with the movie is that it took the original (which was already pushing the lines of over the top) and multiplied everything tenfold, so really they weren't even characters, just "roles" if that makes any sense. For example, in the first, Greenley was obviously an idiot, but it was funny. In the second, his stupid is taken to the extreme and it is no longer believable. The cheeseball factor was just too much for me to bear. I mean, come on, duel-wielding Desert Eagles? Give me a break.

As far as IMDB ratings, I tend to take those with a grain of salt. For a while there, The Dark Knight was rated as number 1 in their top 250...before it was even released. A lot of scores on there tend to be a bit inflated due to the fanboy factor.

I just reserved a movie called Moon. Anyone seen it? Any good?

One of the best movies of 2009 in my opinion.

It's a good sci-fi film that says a whole lot more than that of Avatar or District 9. Also features a good acting performance out of Sam Rockwell.

What the deuce? There is already a thread like this. What are you, shut-ins? Y'all live in some windowless Mormon compound together?

Understandable. I tended to lean the other way with it. I'm a much more casual fan of the movie than a lot of my friends who thought it was too over the top. To me the first one was pretty god damn over the top and the extra over-the-top-ness of the second one didn't bother me since I had already bought into the premise of the Boondock Saints as being inherently ridiculous but quite fun and enjoyable.

You haven't lived until you've duel-wielded Desert Eagles, man.

Blazers fans don't like to venture out of their shit hole ;]

Public Enemies. Just watched it. Not too bad.

SPREAD starring Ashton Kutcher and Anne Heche.

0/10. Only made it through 1/2 hour then put it back in the Netflix envelope.

Funny People

7/10

Judd Apatow's most serious movie. A dramedy.

I had serious expectations for that movie. I love Judd's movies. I was slightly disappointed, but Sandler was incredible. It was a good movie, just not as epic as I thought it was going to be.

I watched Hot Tub Time Machine yesterday. It was funny. I had high expectations for this movie as well, for a stupid comedy. It lived up to my expectations. It was stupid and possessed moments of hilarity. For what it is: 7.5/10

Sunshine Cleaning

8/10

A very clever comedy/drama. It's on Starz OnDemand, btw.

Former high school cheerleading captain Rose Lorkowski (Adams) is a thirty-something single mother who cleans houses for a living. Wanting to send her trouble-making eight-year-old son Oscar (Jason Spevack) to a private school, Rose decides to take the advice of her married lover (Steve Zahn) and get into the "lucrative" business of crime scene cleanup. Rose convinces her disillusioned, underachieving sister Norah (Blunt) to join her in the enterprise, which she calls "Sunshine Cleaning." The sisters begin to find meaning in their function to "help" in some way in the aftermath of a loss, just as the job stirs up memories of their own mother's suicide. Their priorities and goals tested, Rose and Norah face hard challenges as they strive to improve their live

Hot Tub Time Machine at first showing 12:01 am.

It was the funniest movie in a long time. I also saw it again a couple of days later and still laughed hard. Loved every character, and all of the obvious, and not so obvious references to the movies of the 80's and the 80's themselves.

I WATCHED "THE PROPOSAL" ON NETFLIX IN DEMAND.

IT WAS VERY PREDICTABLE BUT I LIKE THESE STUPID ROMANTIC COMEDIES.

6.5 / 10

ALSO WATCHED 10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU. FUNNY HIGH SCHOOL COMEDY.

6.54 / 10

Clash of the Titans 3D
7/10

Good movie, but you should watch it in 2D to save a few dollars because the 3D effects sucked. I heard that this movie was originally 2D, but they converted to 3D- that's why the "3D effects" were so lame.

I just reserved The Bad Lieutenant for tonight. I'm hopeful that it's good.

Hasn't that movie been out for 18 years? Hell ya it's good!

Not sure. This may be a re-make. It's just coming out today on dvd, though. Stars Nicolas Cage and Eva (hubba hubba) Mendez.

I'd give it a 7/10

Cage is pretty funny/crazy in the movie, and the New Orleans post Katrina setting is cool
