This sure is a negative nancy thread.
Decades of fucking mediocrity (at best) will do that to a guy.

I'm surprised to hear there were people pissed about that trade. I for one was ready to trade Plumlee since the previous year's playoffs, and I was ecstatic with the trade for Nurkic. To me it was the (purchased?) draft pick that was the bonus, not the other way around as some have suggested.Yes, the Blazers got lucky in that deal. And it did seem to fit Olshey's MO of finding disgruntled players who want to be away from their team and said team just trading him for the sake of getting him out of their locker room. Let's not forget that a lot of people were pissed off at losing Plumlee and if Nurk hadn't started balling out of his mind, surprising EVERYONE, before he got injured, we'd still be lamenting the loss of Mason.
If by close of business today Olshey hasn't at least gotten us Paul George and Porzingis - while keeping Dame, CJ and Nurk - then his ass needs to go. If any other stars get mentioned in possible trades, by any team across the league, well he better get us those guys as well. I've had enough!

No they weren't. The forum was jubilant at getting Nurk...

Now THAT would have a robbery. No one was pissed. We just thought someone else might go instead of Plums.

He said disappointed, not disappointing.I already am....

I already am....
I would definitely vote for that trade. If the Knicks want to move Porzingis for 4 first round draft picks, I would give them all three of this years and next years, plus Noah Vonleh to make the money work. That would put the league on its ear.
Ok maybe just gamble on one of the medically challenged players. But they both have huge upsides especially for where they are picked. Giles at 26 could be a steal.
Like that point guard we drafted a few years back who missed most of his junior year because of a broken foot, or the one we drafted that next year who had missed most of his senior season with the same injury. Those guys were total busts.I get the thinking, but we have been burned every damn time we take a chance on a player with an injury history. Taking that chance has never worked for this franchise.

I don't think that's what happened at all. Pretty much everyone was of the mind that we better trade Plumlee because we couldn't afford to re-sign him this summer. Everybody liked Plumlee, but mostly everybody realized we needed to trade him.Let's not forget that a lot of people were pissed off at losing Plumlee and if Nurk hadn't started balling out of his mind, surprising EVERYONE, before he got injured, we'd still be lamenting the loss of Mason.

Who at 26 would really represent a gamble though? Seems to me 20 is the spot to take a gamble on someone like Giles, maybe OG if here's there, Patton, etc.
