If Nurk comes back and proves to be healthy then we trade Whiteside or the vet min big. If either plays well they should have value at the deadline. When looking for a backup 5, we have to also think it'd have to be someone who is going to be o being completely out of the rotation when Nurk comes back, most likely.
Noah's complaint in NY was not enough minutes. Don't think he'll sign here to be out of the rotation once Nurk returns.
I'm more interested in Lin and Faried.

Lolz.Turner had handles but he had the Jarret-jack-eyes-down-syndrome when he was using those handles.
Livingston will go to the Clippers or the Lakers.
This would not surprise me. But I really think he would fit with Portland better. (Especially compared to the Lakers)
He was drafted by the Clippers, maybe he does not want the same result. Bad memories.
ShhhNeil Olshey?

Nope.Has Diallo been signed?
In that case, the Blazers either bring Nurk back along extremely slowly and don't play him more than 20 minutes a game the whole season/playoffs or Whiteside has increased his trade value and we can get more for him. What if Whiteside plays better than Nurkic (nobody would be surprised if he was clearly better around the hoop) and the Blazers are in the top 4 in the WC?
Then we celebrate our good fortune, and we do the dance of joy! What if Whiteside plays better than Nurkic (nobody would be surprised if he was clearly better around the hoop) and the Blazers are in the top 4 in the WC?
You're not signing him to play him, you're signing him to add valuable experience to the locker room.
Since we're talking about minimum salaries - I guess for another point guard I'd take Livingston, maybe Burke. And for another big I'd take Noah or Faried. Pau on the minimum isn't that bad either, good guy to have on the team. Wouldn't surprise me though if a few of those guys got over the min.
My first priority would be getting another big. Skal I don't think is ready for primetime. Zach hasn't shown he can stay in the game due to fouls, let alone play consistently well while he's in there and he needs to bulk up a bit.
They won't have Nurk and Aminu, the two starters, or Kanter or Leonard, and so far they've replaced all of those guys with only Whiteside and Tolliver. Pretty concerning up front to be honest but I'm sure they're fully aware and looking to do something.
We need a superhero:I’ve been doing some digging as well and this is the guy that made the most sense at PG the more I kicked it around
