BTW, Faried was used as a center last year, but Noah rebounds a little better, blocks shots quite a bit better and has four times as many assists per 36. And Noah has a DBPM of 3.6 while Faried's is negative.
Noah also probably overachieved more last season and is probably due for some decline due to age.

Not that anyone is wondering, but Bender has left the NBA for Russia.
Good to Know.

Maybe the team has more confidence in Mario than expected?

Olshey apparently does. I'd be surprised if Stotts agrees any time soon. Olshey had a lot of confidence in Meyers too, for 5 or 6 years, and even talked about Meyers as a PF

right now, what is the PF rotation chart?

Zach
Tolliver?
Hezonja?
Skal?

that looks pretty damn weak to me; and what happens if Zach gets injured?

There are other players I would’ve rather had than Tolliver, but he’s also one of those guys whose value supersedes what he does on the court (which is fine, a consistent shooter is never a bad thing.) Fans naturally don’t appreciate it as much since it’s all pretty much out of sight. For example, Turner and Meyers won’t be missed on the court, but I’m certain they were both great in the locker room.

He didnt keep on though, he greatly inproved. Maybe it was because he was finally healthy but alos, hes never healthy.
I played competitive (rec) soccer into my 50's and people who knew me said I was much better at 50 than at 25. :)

Still looks better than the depth chart at PF last year.
Aminu
Zach ( in his 2nd year)
Leonard
Skal

How about his great 3 pt %

3ptFG%: Jerebko .367....Tolliver .377
2ptFG%%: Jerebko .563....Tolliver .409
FT%%: Jerebko ..800....Tolliver .783
PER%: Jerebko 13.5....Tolliver 8.6
TS%: Jerebko .588....Tolliver .571
eFG%: Jerebko .556....Tolliver .539
off reb rate%: Jerebko 6.6%....Tolliver 1.5%
def reb rate%: Jerebko 18.1%....Tolliver 16.2%
total reb rate%: Jerebko 12.6%....Tolliver 8.8%
assist rate: Jerebko 10.1%....Tolliver 5.5%
turnover rate: Jerebko 9.9%....Tolliver 11.2%
RPM: Jerebko -0.22....Tolliver -2.08

Career 3ptFG%: Jerebko .363....Tolliver .376

last year, Jerebko attempted 188 three's, Tolliver attempted 215. They both averaged about 16.6 minutes. Say their minutes stay about the same (maybe less?) and either would attempt 200 three's next season. That would mean, Tolliver at around his career and last season's clip, would make 75 three's. And Jerebko would make 73. So then, Tolliver would score 6 more points, total, from the arc over the regular season. In other words for the gain of 6 more points and some theoretical professionalism, (that Jerebko might match) Portland would be losing out on all of the other things that Jerebko does better

that's all hypothetical. Maybe Tolliver will be a great signing. But maybe somebody like Jerebko would have been too. Bottom line is that it's reasonable to question if Tolliver was the best Portland could do, especially when they pulled the trigger so early during the moratorium. Might end up similar to 'signing' Stauskas so early last summer when there were a bunch of better free agents available

No doubt Neil believes in "the bird in the hand" approach early on to assure he at least gets someone at a position of need.
Maybe he could have gotten someone better, but not getting anyone of value at the stretch 4 might not have been worth the wait.

We’re also assuming they didn’t offer Jerebko a contract. Who knows, maybe he didn’t want to come to Portland.

maybe...[snark mode on] that's probably why we had to endure 3 years of Turner [/snark mode off]

damn...I don't think it turns off
