Crabbe is a pretty good defender at this level.

Halfway through the 4th, we lead 94-77. I think I fell asleep here in my chair.

Crabbe's in. I feel like Rip van Winkle. What did I miss? Maris posted!

Crabbe gets a block. He's into this. Rebounds, gets a foul. Looking at the play by play, I see he made a couple and missed a couple while I was "gone." We're up 12!

Well done jlprk! King Crabbe retains the throne. So seeing as you've followed both of the D league games, does Crabbe have NBA skills at this point?

They're praising Crabbe as being huge this quarter. Just then he scoops in a 12-footer. Maris, what did I miss?

We steal their inbound, Crabbe makes an unguarded 5-footer. Later misses a 3. 111-97 30 seconds left.

Crabbe's efficiency points per 48 minutes, in quarters 1-4, were in order 31 39 5 67, with 27 for the whole game. Last game his hot quarter was the 1st. This time it was the 4th, which seemed mostly garbage time after I woke up halfway through it. So maybe the stats were coming easily by then with less competition from the Littlehorns.

Final score 111-101. He played 40:20 minutes, surprising like the last game. I don't think any of our D-League callups over the years, except maybe Patty, lasted that long. Maybe he's in better shape than them.

FG 9-18
3FG 3-7
FT 2-2
+/- positive 9
OR 2 DR 4 TR 6 wow
Assists 2
Fouls 3
Steals 2
Turnovers 2
Blocks 1
Blocks against 0
Points 23, tying Murphy for game lead, both teams!

Murphy was out most of the 4th and Crabbe caught up.

Thank you for the updates, jp.

Hey Riverman. I just looked up and saw you looking over my shoulder. It's only whispered as of yet, but becoming obvious, that Crabbe, sure it will take coaching, may have Michael Jordan-like skills. I don't want to get the fans overexcited, but what I saw out their tonight transcends the legends of sports history. It was dreamlike.

You're welcome, Hobbes, but to be honest, I did it for the money. Denny paid me.

He certainly seems like the ideal deep threat Stotts would like have in the line-up.

He cost us 2 #2s, so he better not be your average #2. McCollum on the Stampede looked a trifle more sluggish than the skinnier Crabbe. We have no picks in this draft, so Olshey will probably keep the young guys he has, so Crabbe will be here next year. Maybe Mo and Wright will go, to make room for McCollum and Crabbe. Crabbe is a forward, not guard, on the Stampede.

2 #2s = 4. That would mean he's worth a 4th round draft pick. Since there isn't a 4th round in the draft it means he's better than nothing. Wesley Matthews was never drafted so that means he is nothing. Therefore Crabbe is better than Matthews.

That might make his next week's favorite quotes, Sly!

Compare to his first Stampeding game: 40, 9, 8, 17, and Total 18. This time he was much better in the 2nd, but again faded in the 3rd. The big 4th was partly his increasing experience, and partly due to having a nice lead. They lost the first game. Gotta work on that 3rd quarter.

Darkwebs, your graphics make it a quality thread. Are you up for tomorrow, or is Denny paying you only for 2 games? I had to put my foot down to collect from that miser.

A contract is a contract! Hey Sly, do you want to form a union with me?

Wait, that's not the way to ask.

Awesome! I really wanted to watch this one but Friday night games are tough for me to get to, just caught the end of the Blazer game after work and experienced the Stampede vicariously thanks to you! Great job! With the new CBA these talented rookies are getting more and more valuable down the road. Smart move to get him on a court and showcase him a bit.

I'm really happy the Stampede beat the Longhorns, but I'm really disappointed in the lack of information about Allen Crabbe. What did he eat before the game? Did he go pee at half time? Is he hooking up with an Ida-ho after the game?
C'mon jl do your job!

and is he the love child of Jared Jeffries?

I just finished watching the whole game. It was actually quite entertaining. If anyone's interested in watching it, just click on the Youtube link in the original post and you can watch the whole game too, since these games get archived in their entirety.

The Stampede are fighting for their playoffs lives. There's only 9 games left in their regular season and they are currently in 9th place in the D-League. It appears that only 8 teams make the playoffs in the whole league, so the Stampede can't afford to lose many games from here on out.

I think that may be part of the reason why Crabbe was sent to the D-League: to help our affiliate make a playoff push. And this gives Crabbe some playing time with something worth playing for.

Isn't there a two game limit for Blazer players to play in the D league without losing a roster spot? I thought it was 2 games at a time for a max of 3 trips there in a season? This is where I miss BF the most, she memorized all this stuff. Thanks for the link Darkweb, I'll try and watch it tomorrow.

According to Wikipedia:

"NBA teams can call up players as many times as they choose, and there is no limit to the number of times an NBA player with three years or less experience can be assigned to the D-League. Starting in 2011–12, veteran NBA players could be assigned with their consent."

We're going to send Nate down to moderate the Stampede's forum.
