Serious question: anyone know when their contracts are up?

What were the Blazers thinking when they hired these two?

Really sucks (One TV household) my wife hates watching the games now
Kevin did it again. Failing to identify who the foul is assigned to, what was the foul, and how many fouls for that man was the story of the game. How can he get by with just saying, there was a foul?
Again there was a lot of wasted time about his own personal tastes and activities instead of describing the game. There was a lot to be said, especially about the young players gaining experience. The Blazers deserve a better play announcer. At least present someone who can report those factors that are not otherwise known, like fouls, substitutions, and explanations of contested action.

Turning off sound and listening to Wheels is not an option for me; I only get Blazers broadcast when it's on NBA TV and I can't pick up radio signal. I used to be able to but they don't have as strong a signal as they once did.
Only way to stream it that I know of is via the Blazers app, and that's location based. @crandc is out of luck down in Oakland.Don't they stream it somewhere online?

Interesting, back in the day KEX or whatever would allow you to stream their broadcast free of charge and with no app or anything. I believe Wheels is on 102.3 now, if they have a website they may do the same thing.
Yeah, I was never much of a fan of M&M, and was gonna give the new guys a full season before forming an opinion. But I agree - they have made me miss M&M. Being that I wasn't a fan to begin with, that's pretty bad.I ain't gonna lie. I miss Mike and Mike now. Hurd flat out sucks IMHO. I can't stand his voice and he tries too hard to add "flavor" to the color commentating.
I HATE it when Calabro says:
"to the cup"...
I miss them, but only in the sense that they should've stayed in the family. I think Mike and Mike should've been on the pre and post game show stuff. Actually, Rice should've stayed on the radio.
Yes you can tell Lawler is dated by the fact that his law is "first team to 100 wins". But that doesn't take away from the fact he's a solid announcer.
A Blazer fan hating on Lawler is akin to a Clipper fan hating on Mike Rice. At this point from a team broadcasting standpoint I'd definitely say Lawler is top 5 in the league (and that's without even thinking about who is out there), and Clipper basketball absolutely would not be the same without Lawler on the call.
I have been using it. Hope it catches on.That was me. I think Calabro said something about a hammer during the dunk, and it just clicked for me.
Anyway, I find them acceptable, and certainly better than The Mikes. Much less whining about refs, off tangents, incorrect names. I'd rate them in the middle of the pack as far as League Pass announcers.
But yeah, I like the idea of Brent Barry or Chris Webber (hey, I can dream).
Cleveland announcers definitely aren't great but I don't think they are the worst either. When I think of bad announcers I think of the Thunder and the Rockets. Cleveland has got to be bottom 5-8 though. I'm not too high on the Denver announcers either. The guy lawler works with makes him look bad. One of the worst color guys in the league. Right up there with the Cleveland clown. I don't even know their names.
Brent Barry would be my first choice. I'm not sure Webber would click with the city, he'd be better suited for a job in Sacramento where he played. Webber is definitely a great announcer in his own right though. That was me. I think Calabro said something about a hammer during the dunk, and it just clicked for me.

The Knicks and Nets have the solid national guys in Breen, and Fratello. I'm also a fan of Jerry Reynolds and Grant Napear in Sacramento.
Who would you say are your favorite Local announcers in the league?

I watched a game a while back that was announced by the Lakers crew, and although it felt dirty somehow, I came away feeling like the Lakers TV announcers were very good, and as clear headed and unbiased as any I've seen. I liked them. It shocked me. Probably because their douchy fans are so fucking douchy, I imagined the same for the whole organization. Fuck the Lakers anyway. Forever.I'm one of the few that actually enjoy the lakers crew. They are about as neutral as a local crew can be.
I agree about Denver. They suck. So does Houston, specifically Drexler. Sean Elliott in SA is awful too.
Jazz crew isn't bad.

Easy to be fair and impartial when your team is tanking though.I watched a game a while back that was announced by the Lakers crew, and although it felt dirty somehow, I came away feeling like the Lakers TV announcers were very good, and as clear headed and unbiased as any I've seen.
