LeBron James has told the Cleveland Plain Dealer that he is pleased with the success of the Cavaliers and is considering signing a contract extension this summer.

"You play out this season of course; I will consider it," James said Saturday. "The direction we are headed is everything I expected and more."

Many teams have reportedly begun clearing cap space for the summer of 2010, in hopes that James would be available on the free agent market.

"I definitely want to keep an open mind, I will look at everything," James told the Plain Dealer. "[The extension] is a good point. I think me and my group have pretty much made good decisions so far and we'll look at the options and go from there."

Probably just talk to quiet all this 2010 speculation.

he just wants an extension until the Brooklyn project is finished

lebron is nice player but i would much love YI and YAO!!Q!

Crawford scored 50 today...

too bad for the knicks, they dump a good player for a pipe dream.

This would be great. It would kill the Knicks. That team is just living off all the hype from Lebron and Bosh's "secret pact". Lebron re-signing would completely kill them.

And Jamal Crawford isn't that good. He had a 50 TS% with the Warriors going into today, obviously that will raise with the 50 points, but that's not good. Crawford has never made the playoffs for a reason.

Yeah, Harrington is only averaging 24 points and 7 rebounds with us while shooting a better percentage and playing more defense than Crawford. It was a terrible trade for the Knicks.

And the trade was bigger than LeBron. There is a huge possibility LeBron doesn't sign with the Knicks and management knows this. But we have more than enough room to sign other players: Wade, Bosh, Joe Johnson, Amare, Nash, Ray Allen, Yao Ming, and probably more I'm missing. We not only got Harrington who is outperforming Crawford, we have room to actually be a major player in the FA class.

Don't be fooled by yourselfs, those superstars would stay in their team.

Their team can offer the biggest for them.

Ray Allen no way will go to Knicks, he would still stay with the celtics.

They could very well stay on their respective teams. But the mere fact that we have a decent chance to sign them while getting a better player makes it a good trade.

no brooklyn...no lebron...it's that simple...the rat's company stock nosedived 90%...lebron and the nets are farthest from his mind right now...

still we have great young players in harris and lopez...a pg and a center...the two hardest to fill positions in the nba
a classy veteran in carter, blue collar vets in najera, dooling and hayes...a player you know will have a long tenure in the nba like anderson and a player with a high ceiling in yi...
marketable players, the mavs unprotected pick and the warriors' future pick...cap space galore to use on other players...

as has been said before its great to have a chance at lebron but it was no guarantee and historically unlikely...

YO mr. ******* why you in the nets board. Is it because your team sucks? lolol

i've said for the longest that I don't think Bron is going anywhere....he's already on a contender now, the team can afford to put more pieces around him in 2010, and I think he likes the idea of playing for and finishing his career with one team......

why are people acting like the knicks are the only ones taking a loss here. No Lebron is still okay. They will still have Mike and a whole lotta cap space.

I know a lot of people are gonna bring up the past about the knicks sucking and being an embarrassment but remember people said the same thing about Portland a couple years ago and look at them now.

The Nets are saying the same curse words the Knicks and other GM's are saying. The Nets were banking on Hova friendship being a key to acquiring a free agent.

The Nets should just accept reality and just try to build a playoff team. Lebron is not coming.

Oh i'm Nets fan.

You have 4 posts and are questioning where I go?

Yeah, the reason I'm posting this is because I'm jealous that the Nets are 2.5 games better than the Knicks.

Khadafi said it best, this is just as bad news for the Nets as it is the Knicks.

two words best describes my feeling about LBJ signing early,,,, who cares!

the good news about this is that hopefully we'll be less likely to hold back on doing something else.

And being jealous that we have two youngsters could be very special.

don't forget YI, but he might be considered old by some...

I hope this kicks the Nets in the ass and starts looking to build this team now rather than wait for the pipe dream of signing Lebron in 2010.

Bring in Gerald Wallace!!! The guy can defend and play the 3 and the 4 spots. The two weakest positions on the team.
