The respect of Oden/LMA/Rudy/Batum's agents for taking such a "tough stand" yet ultimately yielding to the player?

If the idea was to show those players that the Blazers meant hardball, this contract doesn't exactly reinforce that assumed tactic.

Or it could just as easily be that they gained the rest of those agents, who realize that they can not just expect Portland to roll over and give them whatever they want. These agents might realize SPAM is over and they are going to run the team like a business.

You can spin it either way, but I guess we'll never know.

We'll see how disrespected Roy and his agent feel about the entire process during the press conference on Friday. My guess is they'll say it's part of the business that is the NBA and there are no hard feelings.

Exactly They negotiated, Roy & his agent won. I'm sure the Blazers aren't mad at Roy because they understand it's a business. Just like I expect Roy wouldn't have been mad if he did end up having to give up something he wanted.

It appeared all along to be a simple, harmless month of negotiations.

I'm very happy to have Roy locked up!

So that's what happened! I expect another up and down season from GO if Denny is going to try and get his monies worth out of this place.

My sources tell me that Roy had to relent on his request that he approves all of HCP's highlights before they air - in the end Roy got only the basketball ones, the Blazers still control the golf and porn ones.
