Por Que No? Is bombdiggity, but for some reason I only go there in the summer.

Casa Del Matador is a spot I go often. Was just there 2 weekends ago. Their version of the surf and turf is scrumdiddlyum.

Mick, you need to stop by my bro's place when you are out and about working!

Anyone that thinks Subway isn't the best chain restaurant is wrong

Have you worked at Subway? I have and don't think it's the best chain restaurant. I award that title to McMenamins.

Had lunch at Casa del Matador on E. Burnside today. Nice and spicy.

Had appetizers of bacon-wrapped hot jalapenos for a starter, and a massive burrito, enchilada-style, for the meal.

Oh no! The mayans were right! They agreed!?! OH NO! :MARIS61:

you act as if that was a "coincidence".

There is this hole in the wall Mexican place called La Serineta on Alberta and like 30th or so........BOMB! Cheap as hell and no white table cloths there!

I used to go to Sirenita all the time. Sooooo good. The past few years though when I'm in town (once a year or so) I go to La Bonita (1 block closer to 33rd). Not really sure why I've been going there over Sirenita though.

Double Dragon on Division and 12th. Bahn mi and beers. So good.

My little sister Annie and her friend Danelle moved down to SD this fall. She is loving it!

Nice. Where in SD are they living? Is Danielle the one who was married to DCR? I'm good friends with his step brother.

^yep! I think she's just east of downtown.

I personally like El Indio (Mexican) on 1114 NE Halsey. Good portion main meals for $9 - $12. They use huge Margitas for like $4.

I have always been stuffed when I leave and my stomach is never upset.
The only downside is that your clothes will smell like the restaurant once you leave.

If you're even in Lafayette, stop at Martha's Tacos for delicious mex. We make the small detour there sometimes when we're heading to the coast through McMinnville. Place is the bomb, and inexpensive.

Just had a big meatball hero at 24th and Meatballs. Good grub!

Went to Wong's King Seafood restaurant this weekend after I heard good reviews. I knew it was going to be good dim sum as soon as I got in there and looked around and noticed we were the only Caucasian people there. Then it was affirmed when I asked for a fork and got dirty looks from everyone in the restaurant.

I got the crispy garlic chicken and the shrimp dumplings with fried rice. So delicious. Best chinese food I've ever had bar none.

hey, how is Ox restaurant? Going to PDX next weekend, thinking about that....

any other recos on Chinese? Taking relatives out for lunch. The usual standby is Thien Hong on Sandy for their pepper salted squid, etc. Anything better? Wong's King is around there too...but i've been to it when it was in beaverton and it was just meh.

I've been there 5-6 times, love it. Might actually go there for a group dinner on Saturday with friends but not sure what their plans are.

Wong's King is yesterday's news. It's all about Ocean City now (or so I'm told by my Chinese relatives). I've only been there for dim sum and I liked it better. I think Wong's King has some...higher end...things (stuff with lobster, etc), but we don't order that, so it doesn't matter to us.

I gotta find a place with Geoduck. Miss that shit.

As sushi? Or in a dish? I know I've seen Mirugai at one of the better sushi spots in SD, so I'm sure you can get it in LA. I've never had it in a dish though. Actually, I've never ordered Mirugai either
