These are the games we won't play now that we had on our original schedule:

vs MIN
@ MIN
@ CHA
@ DET
vs CLE
@ GSW

That's 6 gimme games.
Relax. We’re good. Nurk and Collins back, Dame with something to prove. Winning 6 of 8 we are playing at should be good enough to make the play in.

No one is going to have any “gimme games” as only playoff caliber teams are playing. It’ll be an even playing field, and Portland’s destiny is pretty much in their own hands as they play Memphis twice.

Catching the Grizzlies for the 8th seed is going to be tough given their 3.5 game lead and only playing 8 games. That said, I’m not sure that they are up to finishing strong against playoff-caliber teams. The important thing is to hold onto 9th and finish within 4 games of them so we force the play-in. I like our odds of doing that. We’d still have to beat them twice as compared to the Blazers being in single-elimination mode, but with Nurk and Collins back I think the Blazers would be favored.

Our 8th game can be scheduled vs MEM but it would be their 9th game. Not set in stone that we play them twice in the reg. season.

I don't think it's an even playing field at all. The current standings and their lead over us is a direct function of the easy schedule MEM played early in the season. It was supposed to get easier for us now-- it won't.

Still waiting to see how the schedules play out.

We have a better chance of getting 9th and staying within 4 games of Grizz than we had back in March when there was no play in and we were 4 losses behind Memphis with a game against Memphis looming.

Staying within four games is only part of it. We also have to beat out three other teams for the ninth spot to begin with, and each of them have one less loss.

SO with them extending the season until October, what happens to next season? When will it start?

Here's a question: are the Lakers locked in their #1 slot? Because if so, they might not play as hard, and if one of our games is against them...

I dont think so. If everyone has play 8 more games. The standings after those 8 games are what should count, especially if they count for the 8th seed. It shouldn't be free time for them, they should still be battling to keep 1st from LAC and DEN.

He was traded to the TWolves at the deadline. I don’t think he ever reported to Minnesota though and the rumor was he was going to be bought out. I can’t find any confirmation that that happened though. I think he’s in Portland though. Not sure if he could join the team if a buyout happened.

The Twolves did waive Allen Crabbe

Why, Chris? Without HCA, nothing matters once you’ve clinched a spot.

They just said on Golic and Wingo that it was a 29-1 vote to resume the season in Orlando using this format. And that one vote against, was from Portland.

Portland wasn't against coming back to play. They just thought there were other options on the table that were better.

1.) To be #1

2.) They would rather play the 8th seeded team than the 7th or 6th. An easier series maybe

3.) They don't have to face certain teams till WCF

4.) Bragging rights

So will we make up our games by playing the other teams that also need to make up games?
Lakers v. Orlando/Miami
Portland v. the other one
Lakers v. Portland

There, that does it. Do we want Orlando or Miami?

More likely Orl and Mia would play each other and we would get Lakers twice. Sounds exactly like something the League would do you the Blazers.

Might be better for us as the Lakers could rest Davis and LeBron at that point.

Would they though. They want to get the Blazers back for Kobe night. Not to mentioned when they play the Blazers their stars always play if able. They relish the chance to beat us.
