Opt-in and trade. If he wanted to come here, and Cleveland wanted to accept CJ and Aminu (for example) as compensation.
Oh yeah, they're gonna take crumbs for the cake LeBron.

At least it would finally be the 'move the needle' event Neil talked about so long ago.

Why get our hopes up. LBJ will end up in a fat contract in a So. Cal town.

White chocolate macadamia nit cookies. So freakin good.

Oh. See...for, it would have to be a different thing to make me hesitate. Like talk about having a corn filled log floating around the pisspool.

I thought you were eating a banana when you read Lanny's post.

And do you see what I did THERE? :)

HYA im on a roll!!!

Ehh, we wouldn't give up C.J, as in any chance LeBron would come here, C.J. would have to be here too.

I think it would work like this:
POR Gets: LeBron James, Kyle Korver (TPE),
CLE Gets: Maurice Harkless, Jake Layman, 2021 POR 1st, 2023 POR 1st, Right to Swap POR 2024 1sts.
3rd Team Gets: Evan Turner, Caleb Swanigan, 2019 POR 1st

Compared to letting him walk, Cleveland gains only $3M in salary in order to acquire 2-3 future 1sts and to swap Korver for the younger Harkless.
The 3rd team would have to value Swanigan.

A different version:
POR Gets: LeBron James, Miles Plumlee (TPE)
CLE Gets: Maurice Harkless, Caleb Swnaigan, 2019 POR 1st, 2021 POR 1st
ATL Gets: Meyers Leonard, Al-Farouq Aminu,

Could send Harkless to a team with cap space here if Cleveland doesn't want him.

Either way, you'd have a starting lineup of:
Lillard
McCollum
LeBron
Collins
Nurkic

And you'd fill out the bench with ring-chasing veterans who want to play with LeBron.

Well, you can't stop someone from dreaming nor would I want to stop anyone from dreaming.

Its not about dreaming about LeBron coming here, it's simply a hypothetical exercise.

Dreams are merely visions with any type of potential. Though often unattained, dreams can become reality for those that keep at it.
Fantasy is what will never become reality.

Shit. I wish we could get lbj without giving up our top four in cj, nurk, collins and dame.
Extremely slim, but possible.

He would go to houston first though.
I said it during the conference finals. Im really concerned.
Picture this.
Cleveland loses the finals. Lbj signs a two year contract with houston with a player option for the second year. Signs a team cap friendly and helps his boy cp3 get a ring or two with harden.
Lets the lakers mature and get paul george.
Then he goes to the lakers for the last few years of his career with a bit more limited role. Player coach and mentor to the still young lakers two years from now. He sets up his post nba hollywood career while bringing back showtime and chasing a couple more rings. Maybe he takes cp3 with him.
Cp3, pg, lbj, lonzo, ingram, that could be a teally scare mix of vets and young stars in the making.
Lonzo could focus strictly on facilitating nad there is no denying he is really good at that. He aould also then be able to woke more on his D. Three years from now that could be deadly for another few years after that. Completely taking away our prime with Dame.

That is a worst case scenario for Portland and Dame in my opinion. I think i would cry.

Getting Lebron here would be entirely Lebron's choice...if he wants to be here...he'll be here..Duncan and Dirk took paycuts to keep their core together

I don’t see this as an insult per say. More of an “anything can happen”. It would be insulting if he claimed Lebron was more likely to go to PHX or Utah. It’s nice to even have our name in the hat so to speak, even if it’s written on a tiny piece of paper.

This is true, and I think Cleveland will work with LeBron; if they don't think they can provide him a strong enough team, they will help him go where he wants. And I don't think it would take anymore than what Bones has speculated; afterall, he can just opt out and they could end up with nothing.

If we got Korver with LBJ it would be like free soup with your meal.

That's the very definition of a fantasy that I called a dream.
