Paul Ryan talks tough but Bill Clinton made tougher budgets. Romney is a fraud.

this is everything that is wrong with america

"dont vote for the guy you want, BE REALISTIC"

vote for who you want to become president, anything other than THAT is a wasted vote

I can't support the Libertarian foreign policy nor their stance on drug legalization. Hence, the GOP is currently closest to my values. For the record, I voted for Clinton twice.

An article on this board the other day showed that Obama has expanded government spending less than Bush, Bush, Reagan, etc.

He half-inherited the stimulus. He is cutting the military and everything else. In my favorite department, NASA has cut several planned probes and he takes criticism from space fans. How is he expanding the government, especially in comparison to previous presidents?

An article on this board said the government was responsible for 9/11.

Yeah Obama definitely expanded government, the stimulus is not a new baseline for spending long term.

Some of your views are still way too old-fashioned though.

You mean like we should balance our budget? That people should first be responsible for themselves, then their family before looking to government? I guess I'm fine with old-fashioned.

No I mean the opposite direction, too big government for my taste. :pimp:

Dude you've never met anyone more capitalist than me. :D

then what was the "i lean libertarian" nonsense?

and ending military occupations all over the world/ freeing our prison system from the weight of victimless criminals are some of their better ideas

Stay out of my business; stay out of my bedroom.

By the very definition of Libertarian, you don't get to define what "Libertarian" means to me.

i think libertarian means anal beads, burnt hair, dancing in the diminishing light of a dying star, and dealer stands on 17

what are you talking about, you are voting republican i thought...

LOL. I don't vote down party lines. Like I said, I'm not a member of any party. I take a bit from each party and each party has stuff that I dislike. I hate the bigotry and moralizing of the GOP, I hate the economic policies and the nannyism of the Democratics and the isolationism of the Libertarians.

it almost seems like there should be a viable 3rd party to grab all these disenfranchised voters, oh well

So then Newt is a Libertarian?

Come on dude, sorry but Libertarian usually has something to do with the Non-Aggression principle. You clearly don't believe in that.

Agreed. Every time I vote, I hold my nose. The more people with whom I speak, the more people I find feel similarly. Oftentimes, it comes down to what I care about more at the time, domestic or international issues, social or economic issues. Right now, I am most worried about our economy and then am worried about our foreign policy. That means I'll likely vote for Romney.

not sure if this still applies, but i remember a big push to get nader 5% of the vote because then his party would have to be included in the next cycles presidential debates?

if so thats a great reason to vote johnson

I don't disagree it's not important, but to me it pales in comparison to the economic issues facing the country.

Factcheck says bullshit.

Bush's last budget was $3T. Obama's first budget and other three were $3.6T. $.6T x 4 = $2.4T in reckless additional spending, in spite of any "cuts" you claim. It's shady bookkeeping and intellectually dishonest to not count that $2.4T as if it didn't happen.

And if you want to factor in the stimulus, that would be a 1 year spending of $800B, so his budgets should have looked like $3.8T + $3T + $3T + $3T.

Get it? He fooled you.

How is he expanding the government? He's collecting $1T in upfront taxes for ObamaCare. The IRS is hiring ~4,500 new employees to collect those taxes. That's just the tip of the iceberg.

My article is from Forbes, the business site. Obama's rate of spending growth is a record low, if you assign the initial budget to Bush, since Obama was inaugurated 4 months into it.

First you abandon Libertarianism. Then you reject Malcolm and Steve Forbes. Watch out. You don't want to become as isolated as Netanyahu is right now over Iran.

You should write longer-form fiction. These posts don't utilize all the talent you possess.

The WaPo, among others, already shredded that chart to pieces, as it is based on Oct-Sep fiscal years for the federal government, and not reality. By your chart, Bush takes the blame for the Stimulus Bill. LOL, your posts are so stupid when you're not solely criticizing other posts. It should be embarrassing to you, but I know it's not. Luckily, the only person moderating here is a flaming liberal, so this post will likely be deleted.

Nice to see you're still living 9 months ago, though. Not a surprise.
