Dear Roybe,

Your team is down 0-2 to a team they had a legit chance to beat. Could you spare a few minutes to think about something besides yourself? If not, could you at least have the decency to not whine while cashing that huge paycheck. Thanks so much.

I love ya, Brandon but....what OMG said.

It's unacceptable to cause chemistry problems while the team is in the playoffs.

Go Blazers

I think I know why Roy and his agent demanded the player option for the last year of his contract. He knew about his knees. It's a business and the Blazers are getting burned.

Roy came back and never got his stating job back...he had some nice games off the bench including a game vs. dallas that he WON for us....Roy has ALWAYS been a guy who needed minutes to get into a rhythm i dont know if you guys have forgotten about the last 3 years. He never got to have his starting job back which most players always get back if they lose it because of injury. he continues to come off the bench playing about 15 to 20 minutes a game all in spurts which doesnt allow him to get into the flow of the game. he doesnt play well in spurts of playing time as we can all see and there is an easy out for all of you "fans" and its his knees which he says dont even bother him. THIS IS A MENTAL THING. Roy is not airballing because of his knees...HE HAS LIFT on his jumper dont even try to tell me otherwise because its right there everytime he takes a shot. he has no confidence right now...Roy didnt miss those two free throws because of his knees...he has no confidence. O AND BY THE WAY....for all you "fans" who ripped on mcmillan for playin roy too much in the 4th quarter of game one....that 4th quarter looked a hell of a lot better then game 2's 4th quarter didnt it?? and lets count how many times roy drives and kicks and how many times people miss shots?

THIS! 100% agree. Roy missing free-throws is a sure sign this is mental. He doesn't need "Lift" or "explosiveness" to make a damn free-throw. It's obvious Roy is second guessing himself right now.

hereby nominated for post of the year.

"He's so dangerous," Terry said. "We definitely don't want to get him going."

hes not talking about wes mathews..

I'd say the same thing about Brian Cardinal if I thought it might make Dallas play him more.

It's his unconscious mind trying to talk to us, begging for help to escape his slavemaster conscious mind. The Manchurian Candidate needs a good hypnotist to cancel the bad hypnotist's orders. Until then Paul Allen is in danger of assassination.
For god's sake HCP, don't let anyone play cards with Brandon. Especially not Queens.

There are so many spot-on points in this thread. It's pretty much all been said. I'm left simply shaking my head. If we don't sweep at home we're dead.

Also, god Jason Quick is a Drama Queen.

WTF? You do know that if Roy had played in the 4th quarter of game 2 we would have lost by 1,364,097 points, right? Good thing Roy didn't play otherwise we would have made the record book!

See? I can be absurd, too.

not sure what you mean but sure

That was a bit too much to bear. Man, I feel so bad for the guy.

Man after hearing the audio... I would be pissed if I was his team mate. Does he realize how bad he was playing? Should we really throw away our playoff series to nurse his feelers? He really felt sorry for himself? Seriously?

How bad can it be to get paid so much money regardless of how you play? Guaranteed. If I stopped producing at worked I'd be canned within weeks.

Now... I do empathize with him regarding his desire to play better... but for whatever reason... be it knees or head space and timing, he is coasting like a NBA player would coast against a 10 year old... like he is pretending he is playing basketball by shuffling around out there and honestly... if he feels sorry for himself that there tells me he has lost it mentally... I have more focus when my fat ass plays pick up ball at the gym.

I know I'm guilty of this, but I've always held Brandon to a different standard because of what he's done to bring this team back from the brink. If someone like Rudy said this, I'd be on his hate wagon. But with Roy, it's just different. Some of what Roy said is true, and after reading about his pregame workout and vow to perform better in Game 2, I expected Nate to oblige and let him play his game. But he should not have let it out to Quick/Spears.

I just listened to the audio. Man, sounded like he was about to cry. I fully believe Roy's problem is mostly physical. But even if it's mostly mental, it doesn't sound like he can get his shit together any time soon. The more reason to shut him down, IMO.

I just listened to the audio and it was hardly a call out. It was almost like he was talking to a friend being frustrated. If Quick's intention was to make Roy seem like he wanted to go to the media and complain, then he did a fine job baiting Roy. Quick came to Roy as a friend and Roy responded like he was talking to his friend. Wow, this audio was hard to listen to. He really thinks he can help this team. Nothing "negative" about it.

Have you heard the audio of Roy's concerns?

I think some of the fans jumped on him without hearing it from Roy's mouth. There was absolutely nothing negative about what he said. He truly believes he can help his team.

And if Quick baited him so it looks as if Roy wanted to complain publicly, then he is one sneaky mother fucker. Hearing Quick in the background, you can hear him talking to him like a friend. Trying to make it comfortable for Roy to let it all out.

Re: Have you heard the audio of Roy's concerns?

You do realize it wasn't just Quick that got Roy to make similar comments, do you?

Re: Have you heard the audio of Roy's concerns?

Are you kidding me? he threw nate under the bus for putting in mills in before him. He needs to understand he cannot help this team right now.

Re: Have you heard the audio of Roy's concerns?

If Andre or Wes complains about their roles right now, you wouldn't be all over them?

Andre, no. Wes, yes. Why because Andre is a proven vet that historically is a great player. Wes has been in the league for 2 years. Yeah this year was a great one for him, but he hasn't paid his dues to justify this.

Re: Have you heard the audio of Roy's concerns?

Did anyone care when Miller threw Nate under the bus? He did that last year. Vets that have a feel for their game and what they expect they can do, has a certain level of "ego" that transcends to their respect in the league. Timid players are always put in the back burner, while the more aggressive players become stars.

Re: Have you heard the audio of Roy's concerns?

Understandable. On the other hand, since Roy is suppose to be a leader, people understandably holds him to a higher standard. Do you think it's good form for a leader to be complaining about his role right now? I don't, but whatever.

What I'm saying is it happens all the time. Superstars always make huge call outs. And like I responded, even Miller called out Nate last season. Roy has paid his dues, put his body on the line for this team and fans, and felt he wasn't treated fairly.

And to go a little further, Roy was always supportive of Nate. Always backed Nate up, as he felt Nate did with him. I think last night was the first time that Roy felt truly alone. Even the coach that always supported him, turned his back on him.

I think that would break anyone.

Re: Have you heard the audio of Roy's concerns?

I didn't, but many people did. Also, Andre confronted Nate about his role (in the regular season, no less). He didn't go to the press and aired it out behind Nate's back.

He said it publicly Ty. Come on, you know this. I was defending Miller last season too.

Miller's confrontation with Nate was at a practice in early January. It was loud and overheard by members of the media. It wasn't Miller complaing to the media about his role, it was him confronting his coach directly. That's not throwing your coach under the bus, that's taking a direct approach to trying to resolve an issue. Don't you see the difference?

Roy aired his complaints to the media. And, he did it during the playoffs. If he has a problem with Nate and his PT, he should address it directly with Nate and not try to work the issue through the local media - who just love any sign of discontent when it comes to this team.

Besides, Miller was right and Roy is wrong. Miller was playing better than Blake and deserved more minutes. Roy is playing like absolute crap on both ends pf the court and should be the LAST person on this team complaining about playing time.

Re: Have you heard the audio of Roy's concerns?

I can understand Roy being frustrated, but no one is trying to take advantage of him or committing an injustice toward him. In such a case, I think it's his responsibility to keep his frustrations to himself (and his inner circle, whomever they are). The team paid him a lot and he won't provide a return on that investment. That isn't his fault, but I think that that kind of money does carry a few obligations. One is not to be a distraction due to his frustration over a bad luck circumstance that no one created for him. If McMillan had destroyed his career or if Andre Miller had cut his hamstring, by all means, speak up. Being paid a lot doesn't mean having to remain silent about wrong-doing done him. But no one did him wrong so, as a professional, he should try to avoid disrupting his team's focus.

Hopefully, though, their focus isn't affected by his laments.

You're wrong. Miller and Nate got into a shouting match at practice that happened to be loud enough to be overheard by members of the media. Miller was addressing Nate directly, not speaking to anyone in the local media.
