For the record, I find exceedingly long sigs an unecessary, self-serving pain in the ass regardless of content. Nothing screams "Hey, look at ME!" more than an unecessarily long sig. But, in this case the quote you had listed from me was 100% correct. So, it's rather ironic you chose to include it in your sig. I was referring specifically to this incident:

It was obvious by the context EXACTLY what event I was referring to, and that my comments about that event were 100% historically accurate and easily verified. Quoting one tiny part of that out of context does not change the facts.

And, the other incidents you referenced WRT Miller happened either in PRESEASON or early in the REGULAR SEASON - NOT IN THE PLAYOFFS. Do you still not see the difference? Never mind the fact that Miller was right (he was the better player and deserved more minutes than Blake), and Roy is totally wrong (PER = -8.2, totally sucking at both ends of the court), it is the timing of Roy's comments that piss me off. Whining about playing time and getting your feelings hurt during the playoffs is about the most selfish thing a player can do in a team sport. It TOTALLY undermines team chemistry and causes unecessary distraction when the team should be pulling together and focusing on the opposition. It's an extremely selfish, immature thing for someone to do who is supposed to be a team leader (or is at least paid like he's supposed to be one).

It reminds me very, very much of the time Damon whined about Greg Anthony getting more minutes in the 4th quarter against the Spurs during the 1999 WCF. It was equally selfish and immature, and the Blazers ended up getting swept by the Spurs. It's just an incredibly seflish, immature thing to do, whether you're Damon Stoudamire or Brandon Roy. Damon was harshly criticized at the time for putting his own needs above those of the team, and Roy should be, too.

And, the next time Andre Miller whines about playing time in the post season will be the first. THAT'S the REAL difference between what Roy did and what Miller did.

Actually, the response, going back, was my post that Andre did, in fact complain to the local media. Then a response by you and Uncle Ty said I was wrong. So if you may have mis-interpreted that I was referring to the incident in the locker room; then I guess I can give you that. So here is what I said, then what you replied. In fact, I am just going to put the whole thing in quotes because you responded to this...

As you can see BNM, and if you follow the chain of events, you clearly denied Miller ever went to the media. From tabs 4-5, the proof was all here. And especially reading how the conversation between Uncle Ty and I was going at the time. In fact I even said this, the post right above yours...

When he's venting it's not just because of a single game...it's coming from a guy that sees his career going down the toilet. It's amazing that some people can't see that part of it. It's much more than just "complaining" about minutes.

I still maintain Miller saying "I wouldn't have come here if I knew I was going to be a bench player" to be bush league. It shows absolutely no sacrifice for his new team that had just won 54 games without him. At that point Miller had proven nothing to his new teammates and he came with that shit...bush league.

Preseason + more than 1/3 of the regular season. That's a long time.

Roy said he wanted the ball more and that Blake was a better fit next to him. Is he wrong in saying this? It's what he honestly felt, and partly true as well as Blake can spread the court. If we're giving guys a break for being right, then Roy deserves that break here. Instead he was vilified.

Not even close to the same amount Roy has, and that's been my main point. One has been treated differently than the other for making similar comments. Their little tiff didn't start because of just one person - it took both of them. Roy took the wrap for it, Miller was proclaimed "right". Again, Roy, the franchise player, imo, was treated very unfairly. Their tiff was labeled as his fault and Miller took no responsibility for it at all.


Overall, I'm not a huge fan of the way Roy went about his business after game 2. My only point has been that he's been treated much different in comparison to Miller when he had his own thing going on. The guy got into a shouting match for crying out loud over his role.
