If not Roy how about LMA then or even Felton? I'd really like to see some of our players bringing this team together.

Mike Conley organizes workouts for Memphis Grizzlies

Majority of team in town for week of conditioning drills and scrimmages

"Mike Conley, Rudy Gay, Tony Allen, O.J. Mayo, Zach Randolph, Xavier Henry and Sam Young reunited at a local gym early Tuesday. Ish Smith and second-round draft pick Josh Selby were expected to join the group Wednesday. The Grizzlies will practice together all week minus Darrell Arthur and their foreign teammates. Marc Gasol, Greivis Vasquez and Hamed Haddadi are playing with their national teams in Olympic-qualifying tournaments. 'I've been prepared all summer to do this," Conley said. "It's my job as the point guard. I want to be one of the leaders on the team. And guys did a great job of keeping their word and coming in on time ready to work.' ... Conley said he called everyone on the roster, and then enlisted Gay to help with the players he couldn't reach. Gay, who is recovering from left shoulder surgery, hasn't been medically cleared to play with full contact. However, he can shoot and participate in conditioning drills. Local products Jeremy Hunt, Lester Hudson and Portland Trail Blazer Elliot Williams are also participating in the sessions."

No. The Blazers just need to rest and stay injury free. Maybe he should organize milk drinking.

Roy couldn't even play one token minute at the Seattle exhibition game this summer. It was the most NBAish gathering there since the Sonics left, in which he was the headliner. During the game he was busy assuring reporters that he was healthy and ready for next season.

He's a bullshitter. Just ignore him.

"Still" the "leader?" When was he? Being the leading scorer on a team does not equal leadership.

Don't hold your breath.

This should be LMA's team now ... so if anybody is going to grab the proverbial "bull by the horns" it's Aldridge. As for Roy, he's probably a year or two away from the professional athlete's glue factory, so the only thing he should be doing is find the balance between resting his balky knees and getting in as good of shape as he possibly can before the season starts -- whenever that is.
