Quick just said on 95.5 that Roy stated very definitively how comfortable he is with Blake on the court, and that he and Miller will be awkward on the court together. Does such a point blank statement like that concern any of you?

He's played with Blake for 2 years and none with Miller. Of course he feels this way.

As the season goes the more comfortable he will get with Miller.

Obviously I would expect him to feel this way, too. But to come right out and say it? Especially considering that Miller was THE big signing of the summer...that doesn't drum up even a twinge of concern?

Now we know why Nate is so adamant about the starting lineup. It's Roy.

Kind of a mixed bag today with Andre. . . . not what I want the star of the team to say about the major acquisition this summer.

Waiting to see what he does on the court . . .

Well, he may not like his attitude. Andre apparently wasn't as warm with some of the media today as they would like either. But that attitude maybe what this team needs.

Correct me if I'm wrong but this interview with Geoffrey C. Arnold seems to contradict this whole "Roy not comfortable with Miller" thing.

Roy said the addition of veterans Andre MIller and Juwan Howard have contributed to a more business-like focus by the other players.

"There's not as much joking around," Roy said. "We're not as young of a team. I can tell guys have matured a lot. A lot of that has to do with Andre. He's an older guy and Juwan is around."

Roy added that he can already see the benefits of playing alongside Miller. The informal workouts the players have had this month has helped Roy get a better feel of Miller's abilities on the court.

"It's just his passing. I'm out there playing with him and you always have to be ready," Roy said. "He makes passes that...I know I'm afraid to make. He threads the needle."

Interesting. I wonder if it's an "on-the-record", "off-the-record" kind of thing, or if Quick just mis-interpreted the comment he heard. JQ made it pretty clear that he felt Roy essentially said that he wanted Blake to start alongside him, but maybe he's just trying to create a scoop. Who knows...?

Not worried about it at all. He has played with Miller for a grand total of about 4 hours. I think anyone would feel more comfortable with someone they have played with for 2 years over .

Again, the level of comfort isn't the issue so much as the willingness to adamantly publicize the lack thereof (assuming that what Quick reported was accurate).

Trust me, Quick will write ANY random thing on or off the record he hears!

Why does anyone listen to Quick anymore? Dude has been the king of :stirthepot: for awhile now. Since Canzano has zero credibility, Quick is now the only person willing and able to stir the pot like this. It gets old.

I'm gonna go with Roy's actual quote and not something that Quick water boarded (yes, that's tortured) into a quote that built the angle he wanted for a story/interview.

He said it was going to be awkward. Like anything new....marriage, children, job, boxer shorts. There is a period that is needed to get used to all of them. I have boxer shorts that I love to wear, but they are ratty and should be thrown away. They are by far my most comfortable ones though. Sort of like Blake. He has a lot of holes, but Roy is comfortable with him.

I was listening to Hamzano earlier and he stated that Andre was kinda moody because a rookie was booked for something ahead of him, not sure what it was. But he said not to rag on Andre for being moody for that reason. I don't remember what it was exactly though.

I've said since his signing Miller could fit okay with some of the bench players (not Oden) but would get in the way of most of our players who like to post up. His signing was a PR move meant to help ticket sales after a disastous summer of failures, more than an actual help to this team.

Ridiculous. As if a no-name like Andre Miller will bring fans back after the loss of Sergio Rodriguez. You greatly inflate Miller's value and underrate the ability and popularity of Rodriguez.

Do you really think KP would make a move for the purpose of pr?

I think you meant to send this to KP. :dunno:

Roy is starting to piss me off.

Can he shut up now?

You're the one who claimed that that was Andre Miller's purpose. If you understood how much greater Sergio Rodriguez was, you would realize that couldn't possibly be the reason. No one replaces a superstar with a journeyman "for PR reasons."
