Roy "not comfortable" with Miller?

Quick just said on 95.5 that Roy stated very definitively how comfortable he is with Blake on the court, and that he and Miller will be awkward on the court together. Does such a point blank statement like that concern any of you?

What's the context? I imagine it would be awkward for the first days of camp.

Let's be sure to overreact to whatever this report means. :ohno:

Interesting. I wonder if it's an "on-the-record", "off-the-record" kind of thing, or if Quick just mis-interpreted the comment he heard. JQ made it pretty clear that he felt Roy essentially said that he wanted Blake to start alongside him, but maybe he's just trying to create a scoop. Who knows...?
how surprising is it that it's Quick with the pot stirring bad chemistry "reports"

JQ is a proven tool. Petty, sloppy, unprofessional, very loose with facts when there are rumors and innuendo about, and loves to frame himself as the central figure of his reports. I'll take any of the O's other writers word over his in such a situation and generally try to avoid the links to his stuff that posters relay.

I'm not too concerned about what Brandon said or if Quick misconstrued or if what Quick said was misconstrued by a listener. I'm sure Brandon can learn to be fairly comfortable with Miller.

But my own feeling is that Miller would work best with (and benefit their games more than Blake could) Fernandez, Oden and Batum. So I do think this would be a good 2nd unit. It would be nice if they could expand the NBA games to 60 minutes, so they could be fully utilized. As far as who fits with who, I don't see Travis really fitting with either unit. Bayless is really gonna be the odd man out.

I don't think any of those players would be really happy with 20 minutes a game, although Batum would probably be most accepting. And Oden could easily play with the first unit late in games. And Miller could take minutes away from Blake if Blake wasn't shooting well.
Finding more minutes for Rudy might be difficult; I never thought the Roy-Blake-Rudy combination really clicked; maybe Roy-Miller-Rudy would work better.

About as surprising as you berating a writer from the Oregonian.
