Roy out- 3 games

re-evaluated after the next 3 games....yikes.

...and so it begins, the road to....medical retirement.

This is the worst possible scenario for the team.

B-Roy going in and out of the starting lineup, preventing the team to form any kind of cohesion as a unit.

Fuck

That sucks for me. I was looking forward to listening to fan reaction tonight at the RG.

Probably a good thing for Brandon.

Also, the Blazers had better call up Dwight Jaynes, since he has solid intel that says Brandon's real problems are a mix of undiagnosed OCD as well as some generic faking and pouting.

Maybe he'll come back off the bench, and never quite make it back to being a starter...

This is fantastic news. (Well, it's shitty of course if you aren't in the "Acceptance" phase of Roy's plummet. I've already been there for a couple of weeks, though.)

I keep thinking about how good Roy's looked in those three games where he's had several days of rest. I still hold out hope he can be useful to us, but it just isn't going to happen with him playing 37 mpg. He needs to take several games off, recover, and then get eased back into the rotation with more rational numbers of minutes.

Meantime, the timing is perfect for Aldridge to take over this team. He's coming off one of his best games ever, looking like a true franchise player.

Batum's energy is at an uptick, and Miller and Matthews are bringing it every night.

Hopefully the team will jell over this three game home stretch against mediocre competition. Roy comes back a week or so from now, having seen us rattle off three straight wins. We've got a little momentum going, so Roy accepts playing a lesser role and he explodes because he's well-rested and recovered and playing fewer minutes (possibly off the bench). The dye is cast for how we finish out the year.

This could be the announcement that turns this team around.

They have to rest him so he can pass his physical after he is traded. And yes I am joking. :ohno:

Batum needs to be starting and this clears that to happen. BRoy will come up with season ending news is my thought and the transition can begin. His last three games have solidified him coming off the bench I think in everyones eyes.

This is better for the team, their chemistry, and most importantly ball movement!

Or possibly the Best. That's why they choose to do it. Dude needs to get his mind right as-well, hopefully he seeks some help/mentoring/coaching.

Plus...

Maybe he'll come back off the bench

Best Possible Scenario!

Assuming we can't trade Roy for a major talent upgrade, well, yes. I'll also concede that it could be a disaster, and we'll look back at this just as the day we lost all hope of making the playoffs.

But I'd lost complete hope as long as the Blazers continued doing what they had been doing for the past couple of weeks. Stopped watching most of the games. Just stopped caring.

There's now at least some hope.

The big problem here is that for the last few weeks no one wants to wear the egg on their faces for this mess! BRoy is a shell of the player he was and management, BROY and even the coaching staff kinda just hoped this ship would right itself. Now after many losses something must be done or there's a large chance the team might just mentally check out. With Roy out the team can find it's NEW rhythm with a new first option. This was invitable, to bad this many losses had to happen in the meantime.

I think my main concern right now is that this team not be "Allen Houston'd" for the next 4 years. That was the capper that sent the Knicks into the dead pool for the greater part of a decade.

and that the knicks traded all their 1st rounders for garbage

and that the knicks traded all their 1st rounders for garbage

Is that worse than not retaining a single quality player out of your 1st round draft picks for 3 years on end?

Roy suspended 3 games

They can say it's the knee if they want to though. I love that our front office is trying to make this guy happy by trading for guys that fit his style......Especially since he can't play

Ya know "IFFFFFFFFFFFFF" Oden does come back intact, this can still be a good team. I think Nick, Wes and LA are going to rise to the challenge, and throw in Oden next year and we'll be okay! I think the offense should go through Greg if healthy anyway much like they did with Shaq, than LA and Wes will be wide open. I've often thought that Roy would get in the way of Oden's development for all the touches Roy thinks he needs a game. Now we can see just how good Oden is and better than that Oden can come back as THE MAN the Franchise!!!

Kyrie Irvin here we come! :ohno:

Pandora never let hope out of the box, but I have the same gut feeling. Big huge IF to hang your coat upon, but why not at this point? LMA, Matthews, and Batum are all good compliments to a game where your The Man is down low and passing out of double teams. Replace Miller with an outside shooter, and you have an interesting team. Hell, a humbled Roy at point is a good enough shooter at distance to warrant a try.

IF Oden comes back for the Blazers.

If Roy gets players traded for ones he likes, while scoring 4 flipping points and management caves in, this organization gets the punk award for sure!

I bet he is getting a full medical by a few other teams over the next three days. I hope he gets a decent bill of health, because it sounds like Roy's time in Portland is coming to an end. Ric Bucher said there were eight teams that have called about Roy, that leaves a lot of options for moving him.

at least when he is off the court he can't hobble around a remind me of how good he used to be.

If we're trading Miller of table scraps, it sure sounds like Roy won.
