THAT RULE SUCKS!!
This is sad!
in respect to what Roy has done for this franchise and fans I negate my bet with Mags, have no interest in collecting. Great respect to Brandon to make what had to be incredibly hard decision in his prime.
THANKS FOR ALL THE GREAT MEMORIES!!!!
@jwquick
On way back to PDX and trying to get some info on B-Roy and reports of retirement. Haven't heard anything. Very strange development
Thanks Jason for breaking this!
I look at it like a celebration.
A) Roy goes out on his terms, not carted off the floor or something.
B) The last thing people will remember is his Game 4. Not a season of 2002 Jordan or being in a Bulls uniform or something.
C) He gets paid, but also still has (relative) health. He's not hobbling when he goes to the movies or anything (like Walton or Phil Jackson)
D) He's always gonna be a Blazer.
Canzano said:I don't for a second believe that Roy will retire. I don't think he believes he's done, nor would any physician who examined him. Again, Game 4. Period. End of discussion. But I do believe that Roy's pride is the true wildcard.
Yup. If it goes down, I see this as a the best possible outcome for all parties -- the least amount of bad feelings, financial flexibility, fewer rotation questions, an expanded role for Batum and/or Williams to see if they can get it done.
I know people are upset and it is kind of sad for Brandon that his bright career was cut so short, but this is a good thing people -- in two years nearly everyone will see this.
